Bad Optimisation?

Well I run the following rig:
MSI GT70
I7-3630QM
nvidia Geforce GTX 676MX / 4gb gddr5
8GB DDRIII
and SSD

and yet....unless i Play the game on MINIMUM requirements i cant get past 25fps.......so I am wondering whats going on here i can Play almost every shooter thats available at this stage at max and have no issues but this game kills my rig - my guess is bad optimisation either for Laptops or maybe Windows 8? - yea i know but it came with the Laptop and i was too cheap to get a REAL OS yet :expressionless:

any ideas?

yah there is lots of room for optimization, you should also post your game settings

Um, to me it sounds like that laptop has an Nvidia Optimus setup, and it isn't properly switching to the Nvidia GPU, and trying to run the game on the Intel GPU (which gives awful performance).

You sometimes have to work around this by adjusting settings, sometimes you can get away with just changing it in the nvidia control panel (creating a profile for ESO), other times that won't work and you have to set your power settings to high performance.

    cheers for that fellas,
was about to delete this post - solved the issue by downloading a new Driver update Software from nvidia, supposedly the old one ran afoul with Java at some Point and simple stopped updating your stuff - which it never tells u - so now i Play on high with 80-90 fps still cant run Ultra high since that Drops me below 40 but hey ist all good.
    - Not sure what the new nividia Software did but might be something along the lines of the GPUs that u suggested since the whole riggs is doing a lot better now
......so i guess i ran into the noob mistake of not updating my Drivers mwahaha for shame - but i guess i have a semi valid excuse :D maybe this helps other People as well tho

Updating drivers on a prebuilt laptop isn't always a good idea. Great to hear that it solved your issue. I would however check if your laptop manufacturer has updated drivers and see at what version they got 'stuck'. If there is a specific one for your model, grab that if it's even a little less recent, when you run into problems with regular drivers.
