[How to] complete the Vampirism quest at any level (Scion of the Blood Matron)

Hi!

Here's a video showing you how to defeat the level 42 mobs for the quest "Scion of the Blood Matron" at pretty much any level, in order to unlock the Vampire Skill Tree:

I got the infection itself at level 3 (as shown in the screenshots at the end of the video), but ended up leveling up before doing the quest.
If I had known it to be this easy, I'd have done it at level 3.

Tips:

- Make a set of heavy armor that your character is able to wear
Enchant it with health increase.
This allows you to make a mistake or two and survive the melee attack without dying.

- Get a bow.
Enchant it with damage and health leech, this helps you get your health back in case you get hit and speeds up the killing process a bit.

- The two enemies near the stairs do respawn. Just give it a few mins.

- Bring soul gems to charge up your bow!
You will run out of charges on your bow after one or two enemies at lower levels.

- Bring repair kits!
If you want to play it really safe, bring repair kits. If you leave the quest dungeon to repair, you will have to start over.

Yay! Thanks for this! I had trouble on my level 30 just killing them all straight out but it was doable. Then I tried on my level 19 with brute force again, no dice. I will try again using this method.

No problem. Shouldn't be a problem once you get the feel for the route

A little tip though: I suggest soft locking the target (using Tab) so that you can see it through the stairs. Helps with noticing which way the enemy is going, as they tend to randomly change direction sometimes.

Does work, did it in the late teens a while back. I didnt have a heavy armor suit or enchanted bow etc, I just went as I was with a health food buff. I only kited the first 2 mobs. The rest are too far away and will tether.

Actually, I recently got back to the game. Did the quest at level 3 today on my new alt. Seems to be just as easy as back in 1.0, if not easier.

i think its also scaled to your level now as well.... still a little tough if you arent smart about it, this is the sureest way to get it though!

On a nightblade at lvl 13 it's pretty easy. Ambush for sneak damage, funnel health, blood craze, drain, repeat 2 and 3, execute when ready.

Level 3... must try.

Also, it is scaled, but it will only scale down to lvl 38 (I think)

Scales only down to level 38. Scales upwards as high as your character is though!

you sure, my misses were the only issues i had, same with WW... my WW is lvl 3 and my vamp 10... took about 5-8 heavy attacks to kill

The misses aren't really a problem with the vampire quest. As long as you are able to hit them every now and then, they'll go down. If you do the kiting right, they can't really touch you at all.

Sorry for the Thread Necro, but I completed this quest at level 3 with nothing but the breastplate and bow from the urn you get when you skip the tutorial. Took me like 25-30 minutes. I actually used the stair kiting method, but hadn't seen this video, until now.

Not sure how to post a picture, but if someone can explain it I'll post the end result

It's fairly easy after the rebalancing they did in 1.6. If you're careful, you can indeed complete it with nothing but a bow.

Seriously a legit guide, can't believe I never gave it a thought we could just act like we're the world's worst jehovah's witness and just stand back making pot shots. Just lol.... I feel bad now having discouraged so many below level 35 now. That's when I did it myself and had a rough time even then, but I didn't have my damage build all set up right. I was mainly rolling RS with my NB.

wait, did this got nerfed or what? I see that this post was made in 2014, but now I completed the Scion of the Blood Matron with my lvl16 magNB, and I only had to kill 10 cultists and it was pretty easy...

oh, now I see, it got rebalanced with update 1.6, nice
