Unwanted Rune Boxes.

Okay, so what do I do with my unwanted Rune Boxes? I got the impression from the people on this forum? That I could store them in my bank? And apparently I can't? Can I store them in my guild bank? Right now they're taking up valuable real estate in my personal equipment bag. Any suggestions you know good ones. Thanks

They are unwanted, just throw them away. You'd be lucky get 100 gold for them.

You can't put them in your bank, but if you want to hang onto them, and you have another character you can stash them on, you can mail them to a friend and have them return the mail to you and retrieve the contents on the alt character.

The first day of the event - some clowns in my trading guild were selling all that stuff for 1 gold/each.

Thanx, guys, way to make the guild prosper, and help the team.

They aren't really doing any damage to the market. The lockboxes are way too plentiful to be of any value. There's only so much demand for a knife juggling memento. ;) I still have lockboxes not only from the previous Christmas, but from the one before that; they were pretty much unsellable in the middle of August, let alone during the event that drops them, and the only reason why I never threw them away is that I'm a shameless hoarder. (I started throwing away the new ones, though, because even my hoarding has its bounds...)

Only the hoods and the towel will go up in price somewhat, because costumes are always wanted by newcomers. But it won't be a lot - 1000g, 1500g maybe.

I personally send them to some close friends and have them sent back, boom, easy 30 day storage. Then, I give them to friends/guildies that weren’t able to run the event throughout the following months. If you’ve still got them and have no idea what to do? Just destroy.

If you have a guild bank of an old dead guild that you use as private storage, yes, you can put them in there.

As a GM of a trading guild, I have to ask on behalf of whoever your GM is, do NOT flood your active guild bank(s) with these things. They do not stack, nobody wants them because we all have copious amounts of them falling out of our bums from over the years, and they aren't worth selling in the trader or auctioning off or raffling off.

Unwanted runeboxes have two uses - offer them for free to new guildmates (who may be enjoying New Life for the first time this year and trying to catch up on mementos, etc) or folks in zone chat in starter areas. Or destroy them.

I delete them at this point, along with the consumable versions.

Except for one towel, I use "mark as junk" on the rest of the un-vendor-able items.

I save the towel for a few months in case I run across someone who needs it. It's usually a guildie who needs a towel for the guild's Towel Day.

The towel and the mudball pouch are the only things that will sell 4-6 months later and even then at a very low cost, not even 500g. I list mine in the guild trader with the character that got them, cancel the trade, and then pick up the mail on a bank alt. I keep one of each runebox to give away and delete the rest.

Or they were helping the guild by making them available to others who did not want to grind on the events

Just delete them, don’t stuff the guild bank and make the guild officers have to clear it all out

I just pull the couple items I want out of each New Life box (style mat, unlearned recipes/motifs, alchemy mats) and mark the whole remaining box as junk.

All this "delet this" I'm reading in this thread...

    I give them away.

There are a lot of players who don't have them. Not everyone does the event quests, and then there are new players who, speaking from conversations I've had with such players myself, get a little overwhelmed by the amount of travel this holiday asks.

I'm pretty sure that's the point of the runeboxes: To give as gifts to other players.

I quite enjoy it. Yesterday after completing my Skaal style I went on to get more Deep Writs, and I just did them, got a random page.

Turns out that I completed someone else's Skaal style when I gave away that excess staff page, and I felt warm and fuzzy inside.

I sell the hoods and the towel for 250 - 300gp on the guild trader, everything else I just trash.
