Easiest Way To Buy Player-Made Light Armor?

NPC gear doesn't have traits, and I'd like to buy some nice level-29 light armor that I can enchant. (My character focuses on enchanting and alchemy.) I asked in zone chat but didn't get any replies. I went to one of the online sites that sell equipment but I can't easily compare the stats of what is for sale with what I've already got equipped. I understand there is a debate about an online auction house, but I don't want to get into that debate. Am I supposed to join a guild where I could buy what I want? How do I browse the available guilds?

Well imho your best bet is to ask your friends and guildies if they can craft you some, or know someone who can. That way you can at least work with a crafter who isn't a total stranger.

Of course the 500-random-people trading guilds are also an option, but I'm not really a fan. There's some crafting guilds out there as well, although they're surprisingly hard to track at the moment. You may want to check the Guild Headquarters subforum

Like the previous person, I suggest finding some friends or guilds and ask them to craft gear for you. Crafting itself, without making blue-purple-gold upgrades does not cost much for a crafter. I saw people crafting those for free (or blue items for a small fee) even in trade guilds where most people are focused at profit. I love crafting stuff for others simply because it gets my name on it :)

If you happen to be on EU server in AD alliance you can contact me and I will help :)

so the only option for solo players is to join a guild so you can get crafted items to buy? hmmm

    There are different solo players.

Some are refusing to talk to anyone and pretend they play alone this game. For them chances to find crafted armour outside of guilds is minimal.

There are solo players who just don't like dungeons/PvP, but they like to talk and they get involved in some funny conversations in the zone chat or /say form. Such players can make friends and ask them to craft. Sometimes you can even find a kind crafter by just asking politely around. Not with CAPS, no with /yell (which I had to disable and change colour to white, too many people are abusing it), not a short "Looking for a crafter!", but some interesting and well worded request. I would certainly react on those and it worked for me and other players I knew in other games. ESO community is composed of all same live people - be nice and they will be nice to you. Most of them at least :)
