Is anything being done about the low fps/bad optimization ?

Many people with very good machines have inexplicably supbar fps, myself included, up to a point where certain parts of the game are very annoying to play or down right unplayable, such as getting 20-25 fps in pvp.

The CPU and GPU aren't being used at maximum performance, so it's clearly not a matter of hardware. Also installing the latest drivers does nothing.

For some reason when I start the game, I have 80 and even 90 fps but within 15 minutes or so it drops down to 60 in the open world, 40 in towns and as low as 20 in group pvp. This at High settings with 1920 resolution. Not that it matters as lowering the settings to Low seems to do nothing to the fps.

My rig is basically an i7-2600k with a 680 GTX and the above results are far below what my machine is capable of. This is an issue that seems to affect many people, so it's clearly a matter of poor game optimization.

I have uninstalled the game since yesterday and will not play it again until this issue is solved with a patch, as I have no interest whatsoever to "enjoy" pvp at 25 fps because the game engine is poorly optimized.

So is there anything being done about this? Is the issue even acknowledged and investigated by ZOS?

Drastic?! Not at all. I'm mostly in this game for the pvp and pvp isn't working out for me at 25 fps, ergo I have little other reason to play the game. Until the issue with the poor optimization is fixed, I have little to no reason to have the game on my hdd let alone play it.

If your fps was higher the input lag would be your next complaint... anyway uninstalling is extreme, unless you are that desperate for space but if you have a PC that shpuld be getting high frames then you probably aren't and are instead wasting your time with this grand gesture.

Should have just moved it to a storage drive till later... anyway on topic I have a system very much like yours, lower specs in fact. I5 @4.5 and a 670 frames are in the 50s in built up areas. There are odd scenes in the game though that drop it to 30s for no apparent reason though... strange. Anyway CPU evenly spread at about 50% all 4 cores (I have unparked my cores for another game) and in many cases GPU at full load where actual new rendering is being done. There is work to be done sure but most of the complaints come from people that know their spec is supposed to be good but have no idea how to ensure it's running properly. I suggest you reinstall the game and work on it some. You might learn something in the mean time.

FYI thr latest Nvidia driver update dropped my performance mode out of high performance. That may be a good place to start.

Unless you have other programs loaded on your computer running concurrently stealing cpu cycles, it's probably your Internet connection. Run pathping.

Hmm...the problem seems to have been fixed by itself. The fps no longer has such drastic drops and the 25 fps problem is nowhere to be seen.

I didn't do anything other than what I had already done, so it was indeed a game problem.

Well if you had uninstalled the game to check the above means you reinstalled it... a sign that maybe it was how the game was installed on your machine.

I'd hate to have to reinstall, would take me way too long to redownload.
