WORST WEAPON SKILL PERK EVER

thomas.manzellaub17_ESO
Dual Wield tree-Last perk :
Twin Blade and Blunt(stupid name btw): While dual wielding, bestows 25% chance to bleed 40 physical damage over 10 seconds with axes equipped.(perfectly fine)

Deals up to 2.5% bonus damage to heavily armored enemies with Mace equipped, and 1.5% additional damage with sword equipped.

Increases Critical Strike by 2.5% with dagger equipped.

Okay... so... Why did we all of a sudden just say screw people who like swords? Any reason? Is there some hidden perk that swords have that gives reason behind it having a weaker damage buff? Why not have maces reduce armor to target like in the 2h tree?

I like swords, I like how they look, why am i getting docked damage for using a sword... this makes no sense at all. PLEASE tell me it's an oversight on one of our sides, and if it's on my side please explain so I know how to build in the future.

The only other thing that I can think of is that the sentence should have been changed to; Deals up to 2.5% bonus damage to heavily armored enemies with mace equipped. Deals up to 4%(2.5 + additional 1.5%) bonus damage when swords are equipped. Which still doesn't make sense at all because maces are now getting screwed.

I'm not gonna defend this perk because it does seem a bit unbalanced to me, assuming of course that swords don't have better advantages somewhere else (which they usually do).

The chief thought I had upon seeing this was 'finally, weapons other than swords get some love'. Any of us who have played RPGs from way back (like, AD&D in the 70s and 80s way back) have watched as swords are always superior, from tabletop to computer to MMO. I'm just glad to see the other weapons get a little love for once.

The way I understand it is that the sword bonus damage is constant whereas the mace bonus damage is dependent upon your enemy being heavily armored. That may be incorrect, though.

aren't swords faster than other weapons? so bleeding dmg would be pointless...
Warden Main apparently... 7 Wardens currently, otherwise a healer of every class.
Mostly active in No CP PVP on EU, blaming the buffbot meta in pve.
I want to feel like I am saving somebodies life, not like I am carrying amunition for them...

I believe it is a 1.5% damage increase overall, not against heavy armor or anything specific.

Give this man a cookie. This is at least how it works in other games with similar perks. I do understand the OP's confusion though, some of the perk and ability descriptions are a bit... ambiguous.

That still seems like the Maces are getting the short end of the stick. +2.5% to armored but +0% to everything else.

    It... just doesn't seem right.

Maybe it applies to all enemies that have elite bars. If not, it is pretty meh. A chance to stun would make it interesting.

Well, as I have just reached 50 on dual wield and spent the 2nd skill point on the skill, I can safely say that it is actually an overall increase with swords, wording is indeed corrected.

    Description:

While dual wielding, bestows 50% chance to bleed 65 physical damage over 10 seconds with Axe equipped. Deals up to 5% bonus damage to heavily armored enemies with Mace equipped. Deals up to 2.5% additional damage with Sword equipped. Increases Critical Strike by 5% with Dagger equipped.

So as you can see, there are no commas, no "and"s, no "but"s, which makes the description much more clear.

Can one mix and match with this ability? For example, gain the stated benefits with a sword in one hand and other benefits with a mace in the other where the bonuses only apply that that one weapon rather than being a cumulative bonus applied to all attacks with both weapons?

Maybe a MH sword gets the +2.5% damage and off-hand dagger gets the +5% crit bonus?

Does the bleed stack? Otherwise 2 axes seems bad, 50% should be plenty to keep a dot up all the time. On the other hand if it stacks 2 axes seems crazy op...

Except you don't attack with the weapons separately. When you attack you do a set amount of damage based on you weapon damage which is
[main hand damage] + [off-hand damage * x] where x is some percent of it's damage that I don't know what the base is, but with the passive seems to be 25% which suggests the base is either 0% or 19.2% by math (posted in another thread, if you want to see the actual math ask and I will put it).

So that means that if they do stack they would stack for all attacks. So if you have a sword/dagger combo you would get +2.5% and +5% crit

I have two daggers equipped, and see no increased crit on my character stats even with max points in this passive. I wonder if it even works.

The bleed effect of the axes are useless when fighting skeletons and things of that nature since they are immune to bleed effects.

The bleed damage would not stack it would refresh it only.
meaning the sword one is more damage.
The sword one can also crit doing more damage than you would with dagger.

Bleeds doesn't stack but you can use two axes to bestow a 100% chance to apply bleeds all around you when you use Steel Tornado and thus increase your ultimate generation greatly when fighting multiple ennemies.
