Requesting Character Load hang

Ok so I finally completed download this a.m. and have been fighting with this issue since then. I can log on, I can create a character and then I get to requesting character load and I sit there for up to hours on end. I get no error messages, just sitting there watching the circle spin and my unclothed character breathe.

I have tried to find a way to address this and have tried the following:

1. reloaded launcher and looked for game updates and did a few repairs;
2. reduced graphic settings to minimum;
3. verified all drivers are updated;
4. optimized my nvidia settings;
5. launched launcher as an admin;
6. launched game without launcher as an admin;
7. rebooted and tried above all again;
8. created a second character and tried to load that one; and
9. firewall has been down for all of these attempts;

So, I am looking for options that I have missed. Any ideas? Is it better to just leave it going and hoping to eventually get on? Has anyone gotten on after an hour or two of waiting? If it is server load, should I just keep quitting out and retrying?

This is related to issue with crashing with "unknown error" in loading screens between zones and there are a few threads about it. I have the same issue and usually need around 2-10 tries to get in. Currently there doesn't seem to be any fix and your best bet is to keep restarting the game and trying again. The "requesting character load" screen should go through in max half a minute, othervise it's just going to spin there untill the end of time. ZOS apparently is aware of the problem but refuses to give any updates on progress of any fix.

E: ZOS, not ZOE, obviously. too much planetside.

Thanks, I was uncertain if the hang was caused separately from the loading crashes and separately from the in-game transition hanging.

I will keep trying to log on then.

I had the same issue and tried all the troubleshooting I could but no resolution was found until I contacted my ISP and they provided me a public IP. After that I have had no issues. Usually an ISP gives everyone a public IP but mine was one that didn't. So that is worth checking with you ISP.
