I had an encounter in cyro that left me curious. I killed a guy and he does the generic you're garbo whispers. I try to whisper him "lol" and it doesnt send. However he could sent to me. I tried to send him a mail to test and it said i was ignored. He was still whispering me though. Is this some addon or something that unignores people when you talk then reignores them or something?

Ignore is one-way. If you ignore someone, he can not send you anything, but you can still send him anything just fine.

If you do not want to get tells from him you have to ignore him yourself.

The other player could also be set as Off Line. I believe that lets you send messages but not be able to receive them.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

i didnt know eso worked like that. Thought it worked bothways like literally every other mmo. The guy was saying "respond lets rematch" so I didnt think so

The ignore in ESO is kind of silly, it should work both ways.

This is more likely. I don’t think ignore is just one way, offline mode is though. Honestly though people shouldn’t be able to whisper you in offline mode unless they’re on your friends list or something. So many annoying PvPers use that feature to be salty but avoid any possibility of being challenged to a 1v1 or called out.

its not the ignore feature, has nothing to do with ignore.
its because he has set himself to "offline mode"
in offline mode people cannot whisper you.
    that's all it is.

You guys are not reading the post, more than likely he set himself to offline and then 1v1 me bro whispered, then immediately ignored so you can't mail them.

Ignore is singular by the way, if you ignore someone you won't see what they say, but they will see what you say. Try it with a friend, put them on ignore and test it
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Oh interesting. And also why?

To everyone who said the guy was set to offline please re-read. OP said he tried to send the guy a mail too and couldn’t, that’s when he got the message that he was ignored. That doesn’t have anything to do with offline status. We send mail to offline people, and receive mail while offline, every day.

This is someone who had you ignored. He probably did it specifically to not hear your response to his saltiness. People do it all the time when dueling and in Cyrodiil.
