I have one of these for half a year sitting in my bank, I doubt I'll ever use it; what do they usually sell for? PC:NA

Not long ago they were selling for around 3mil. The market is much lower now, both because the people with high levels of interest and gold already know the recipe, and because many ciphers dropped in the recent anniversary event and they’re much more commonly available in zone and traders.

I’ve seen them go as low as 850k in zone recently, and for 1.1 to 1.3m in traders.

I got one during the event and thought aboutsell out selling it. Then I realized I have more gold than I need and learned the recipe to complete my collection.

But, yea, list it at 999,000 and it will sell eventually.

I paid 1.5 million yesterday for one. Not a massive market since people only need one for the recipe and there are still quite a few on the market from the jubilee event.

But eventually every crafter hunts it down to add to their collection, its just a matter of when they have enough disposable gold sitting in their banks.

I went through City of Ash I last night and just auto-looted all mobs as usal. After the dungeon I was pleasantly surprised when there was one in my inventory. It had to come from a mob, I do not remember looting any containers. I was under the impression it only dropped from nodes.

I've been playing for nearly 4 years, leveled up more than 20 characters across 3 accounts (including undaunted to level 9 on them) and have never, ever, ever, ever picked one up.

Never seriously though about buying one either, funny enough.

the cipher drops from mobs. the dust drops from nodes

Same here, been playing since beta, not a single drop of either the cipher or the dust ...

Seems that only farming bots kill enough mobs to have a chance of finding one of those.

Same here, been playing since beta, not a single drop of either the cipher or the dust ...

I've had 10-12 dust, probably because I do a lot of material harvesting. I do have to remember that they weren't actually in existence when I started playing.
