Can we talk about Elsweyr music?

@ZOS_SoundMaster hit it out of the park again! As a clasically trained singer, I am in love with the vocals! They fit perfectly with the motifs, even if I can't identify the originating ethnicity.

I'm not in love with the visuals for Elsweyr, but the music more than makes up for it! I'll stop gushing, but I won't stop leaving the game on just to hear the music. <3

I always like the ESO music. ZOS needs to hire guards to escort all the sound people around so no harm happens to them!

Yes, I really like the music for Elsweyr, to my great relief. Ever since SS launched, I've muted the game on log-in because I found the theme music so incredibly annoying. So far, I've been enjoying the Elsweyr theme music, and I hope I continue to do so.

And really, I think a lot of it is the vocals, plus the mode (I think that's the right word).

I'm also rather in love with the scenery, too. I think they knocked it out of the park. I didn't really like SS all that well. It was well done, but just too pretty and pink/purple. Loved MW's landscape, but then, I cut my TES teeth on TESIII.

I liked SS a lot more than expected and sadly don’t like EW as much as expected! Maybe it’s 6 months away but a lot of textures seem smoothed, almost fake looking. The clash of old buildings with pristine furnishings isn’t my cuppa.

But by Azurah, the music is the best thing ever. I also muted SS... I loved the quiet pieces, but the main theme and combat music ruined it.

This one is curious. The instrument that looks like an Erhu - is it actually an Erhu being played?

A friend got one in his crate and was playing it by a campfire while we waited to kill more dragons.

Oh yes, lets talk about music!

When I first heard theme song for Morrowind, I got this detailed imagery in my brain: celebration in a small durmeri town, parade of dignified elves, clutter of common folk spectators and dancers, a guar that's about to freak out, red mountain fuming on the background...

I never got that into Summerset, the music nor the zone. But Elsweyr struck me again. I still am little unfamiliar with other music, but theme is strong: Simple start with unknown string instrument followed by strong and chaotic sequence. <3

Yes. This one believes it is very similar to an instrument in the game of Outside World called an Erhu.

The instrument being played in the marketplace is also very similar in look and sound to a Xin.

Give us an option to choose the music or switch it to random at least. We have 3 Chapter Themes (Morrowind is my favourite) and 2-3 original soundtrack. I honestly miss main theme from 2015...

Which reminds me, we really need access to all the new music since Murkmire and until now. I have managed to find everything up until Summerset, but the Murkmire and Elsweyr stuff isn't available anywhere in decent quality, plus lots of the new bard songs since Morrowind and up until now are also not available.

@ZOS_SoundMaster any chance of seeing this downloadable or at least being sold anywhere that doesn't require a 3rd party subscription or streaming? Call me old fashioned, but I like to own the mp3 files I listen to, and not having to rely on tools like iTunes to listen to my music. Amazon also doesn't sell digital goods to those of us living in the EU part of the world. Lots of smaller artists use Bandcamp and other similar services, where you can pay easily via PayPal or wirth credit card, and get instant access to the music without the hassles of streaming or having to rely on a specific player or other software. Would you consider making the ESO music available on something like that? That would also mean we could get access to the stuff that still hasn't been released on the former Amazon and iTunes albums.

For now, I have to rely on downloading the albums that people upload to services like YouTube. It's not that I wouldn't want to show my support by actually buying the music, it's more that you don't provide it on any platform of convenience for the EU people.

Its stunningly beautiful, and everyone involved in crafting them should be praised to the high heavens.

While ESO have always had really good In-World songs playing in taverns, streets and in local hangouts, they've really managed to knock it out of the park with Elsweyr. Its amazing, simply put.

Yes, there is a soundtrack release in the works for Elsweyr. :)

As for the Murkmire music and other odds & ends that haven't had an official release, hopefully we'll do another "ESO Odd & Ends" soundtrack (as we have in the past) later in the year that collects up everything that has yet to see the light of day.

And thanks for the kind words!

It is surely only a matter of time the Elsweyr soundtrack is released, as al the previous ones have. See Summerset for example.

You can buy everything that's been released so far from the Google Play Store (unless there are regional/country limitations that I'm unaware of). You can download the files to your computer/device an unlimited number of times with the Google Play music for Chrome app, or download twice if you use IE, Safari, or Firefox.

That would be great, both the Elsweyr soundtrack and the "misc" one with various unreleased stuff. Much better with official releases than scouring through Youtube to try and find a bard song upload that hasn't been contaminated with other ambient noises
