Toxic and dysfunctional teamplay - the real reasons

To provide some background info:

We talk about 2 groups. Level 1000 carries level 30, who is on a scroll through Arx Corinium. Level 600 does the same for level 40. They get pugged together via GDF. Level 30 is faketank, level 1000 is an offheal, level 600 and 40 are DDs. Level 30 is a fake noob with 1000+ CP.

Right at the start level 30 and 1000 head for the quest NPC and the 'real' dungeon entrance, while 600 and 40 hit almost each and every ad. Reaching the first mini boss 600 and 40 already tried 3 times to votekick 1000. Here it starts ...

icCr2ef.png

Well, I got this story in my guild chat and did not understand the matter, until it was explained to me that way:

If 600 and 40 were not so keen on pulling all ads, they would not have died so often. If they would not have wasted their time for votekicks and chat, they would not have died so often. The healer would have done a better job if the group would not have suffered so much damage and wasted time typing.

Did the first group wrong fakepugging? Yes, obviously. Are the 2 the only ones to be blamed for a dysfunctional raid? Obviously not. People are easy with handing out votekicks, blaming others for bad teamplay and feel way to entitled. Best proof is, that - IMO - wrongdoers tend to call players of a higher level 'noob' when they can't deal with their own mistakes in efficient group play.

Which one are you? Because going by the screenshots you all acted atrociously. And if this is all over a normal and non-vet instance this is even twice as unnecessary drama. I don’t run those (just vets) but roles are far less important in normal instances.

I got to column two, and it is clear that you are all not socially fit for group chat.

Everyone in that chat thread was at fault and needed to just [snip] and play. Especially the level 30 claiming that 40k DPS is “not much” in a normal non-DLC dungeon...

well its annyoing when someone calls a player with higher cp a noob...i guess they dont know what the word "noob" means.
if a 1000+ is a noob then what is a 600 then? is it a 60% of a noob or what?

1000 is in my guild and posted me the link to imgur. Level 30/1000 is his IRL friend.

True. But Level 40 is as cute as him, calling others names and 12 years old for nothing special and out of nowhere. :D

All of them are tossers. The levelling max-cp player is the worst.

It's normal arx, why is a 600 fighting adds?

Well, I conclude that at least the 3 minor ones have major 'play like I want it' issues and 1000 has seen way too many divas.

    They're all awful.

Also, can people stop with the r-word? Call me overly-PC but I find it so incredibly offensive. Anyway, it doesn't seem like any attempts were made to de-escalate the situation and that all groups were at fault.

well the problem is way to many player play it like a single player game like "i play as i want to and anyone else have to play like i want as well"

this is an mmo ppl should get used to interacting with ppl they dont know, they dont fully understand or even disagree with or dont like.
its useless to complain now wich one of theese players are worse because no one of them even tried to calm down a bit to prevent this escalation (which was unnecessary af) so they are all equally toxic in my opinion.

ppl need to grow thicker skin in generall as example for an normal run (especially with higher cp player to carry the group) its like 15 min and being that toxic in like 15 min is like wow.....gg

thats how i think about it^^

Tbh I was quite reluctant to even start this topic, because it evolved as I expected.

The reason why I did is that I am quite curious to know who experienced strange gameplay or communication like that so far.

To provide one from my personal experience: The strangest thing I ever saw was a guy who would in vDSA type repeadetly 'BRB' during boss fight and leave. When returning, after a few times, he questioned the group, whether we would make an issue about that, since he said he would BRB.

    (Of course we made.)

Now it's more common that type of players a year ago not so much.

Yesterday in SC pledge just enter the dungeon and a "hardcore" wanted to kick a lvl 45 that was in his first Undaunted.

    Me: Dude is normal wtf?

No lifer: I do not care i do not intend to waste my time with a noob, i have 14 characters with quest to do.

Me: that is the definition of wasting time, anyway, you're not going to kick him and we do not need you for the dungeon, we can do it without you, your decision.

No lifer: I hope you all die of cancer.

lol, whats wrong with this ppl? is something in the water?

The Harcdrore Players believe that when they enter a pug dungeon we must obey him blindly and venerate him like a king, when in reality he is nothing more than real life loser.

I'm obviously generalizing, and it's not the right thing, a week ago one of them just for the pleasure of helping me waste 1 hour of his time with me teaching me how to improve my Stamina Templar after he saw me in a dungeon.

I actually haven't, not really... sometimes people behaving poorly is entertaining, but I don't ever really say anything. In this case I'd have called them out for the r-word crap and then just worked to finish the dungeon. No use arguing with people like this.

First anecdote is an example of an epeener who probably dolmen’d all 14 characters to max level and who follows copy/ paste builds from the major content creators while doing half the dps they would do and calling everyone a noob. Second anecdote is a good example of a hardcore player: someone who knows the game inside and out and who wants to help people improve.

If you can’t take the time to enhance another’s experience you’re not a ‘hardcore’ player. Hardcore players all have a measure of understanding and patience and rarely have I seen the best of the best players lose their cool or resort to insults.
