Here is my question:
Lets say I research a trait for a dagger...
It looks like an iron dagger in the image.
When my black smith gets up to Steel... Am i going to be re-researching the same trait for steel daggers that i did for iron? or is that just a generic place holder image?

Styles certainly aren't affected.
But the game refers to traits being applied to "types" of items.
My question is; are Steel and Iron daggers the same "type"?0 -

But a sword will not benefit from dagger research.0 -

No. All traits are permanent, and cover all racial motifs and all levels for that class of item. Once you have researched a trait for daggers, you will have it forever, no matter what other stuff you get in addition to it (like crafting from higher level materials).TRAITS!
