i pray they're 100 crowns each. that's a VERY reasonable price and many people would buy them at that price for their alts, especially if they have many alts.

Let's try not to paint everyone with the same broad stroke. The odds are, their business people are to blame, not the developers or designers.
I really don't know what you mean by blaming the business. This business could be done in 9.999.999 better ways. Hunger is hunger, greed is greed. There are gazillions of examples of this.
For example, did you believe when Rich said they won't do class change token because it's hard to do? Did anyone actually buy that? They take their players for bunch of fools then expect respect? I'll tell here as i tell everywhere: ZOS won't make class change token because selling everything bit by bit instead is at least 10 times the price! Starting with skyshards soon, here is your reason.
So, i can actually very well point ZOS, or say whoever is in charge of monetization in there, and say they are greedy af. It's a fact.
your delusions are not a basis for fact.
They really should group up the Alliances' zones into DC Shard, AD Shard, and EP Shard packs. Then sell each pack for like 1500 crowns; just under what we get free with an ESO+ sub. - That'd be a solid 3 month sub from anyone looking to skip the older zones and start in the new zones.
Then go with a per-zone pack for each subsequent zone introduced in expansions.

Damn... Those like you who seem fine paying 1.5k per zone are the reason things are priced high.
If you don't buy something you because of the price, you send a message. You're telling them "no deal".
I'm not blaming people like you per say but it's just how it works.
I'm still hoping for something more reasonable for someone who has 16 characters...

I said 1500 for each 'pack' of the original AD, DC, EP. Right now, it's worded you'd have to pay for the Auridon Pack, The Greenshade Pack, Grahtwood Pack, etc; there's like 5 zones per Alliance. And I HIGHLY doubt a zone will cost 250 Crowns...more like 500. So that's be ~2500 crowns to get each Alliance's Skyshard collection.
After those, I don't really care if they want 1500 for "Expansion Skyshards".
All the shards in the expansions are super easy to get since it's just a few new zones. - I'm looking and it says "with Morrowind" we could get 381 skyshards. I'm pretty sure Morrowind only introduced a few dozen (less than 30). Cyrodiil only had like 46-ish. That means the majority of Skyshards in the game is coming from AD, DC, and EP zones.
So, no, I'd say mine is much more friendly for those who don't want to spend a lot of money.
EDIT: Updated the number of zones from 7 to 5...felt like 7! XD
I was simply hoping they were going to add an "all zones" option... wishful thinking though.

Ahhh Sry my bad. That would be a tad more reasonable to sell packs.
My angst with all this is this system is convenient for people with 1-2 alts but those that have 15-18 characters when this comes out are left on the dust....
I would pay let's say, 2k more per pack to have it account-wide.

That's also why I said 1500, I think I get like 1650 crowns with ESO+ each month. If you're like me, you don't spend a whole lot on the Crown Store. ((For me it's mostly Research Scrolls))
But each month you could buy an 'Alliance Skyshard Pack'. Then on the 4th month start buying each zone of each expansion. All for "free"; assuming you're on ESO+ for other reasons than the Crown stipend. ((I haven't finished the original campaign...5 years in the doing! But I think each expansion introduced only three or less zones. So it'd take maybe a year to get all the zones for each alt you make; assuming you don't go out and get any Shards yourself.))
randomkeyhits wrote: »Thought about this and realised that I'd be doing the zones anyway on alts. I'm in no hurry and don't have that many.
Wayshrines, points of interest, mages guild books, ticking off all sorts of things and would get most of the skyshards in the process.
So for me this would only be usable as a filler, to get the ones I missed.
No doubt they'll price it based on needing every shard and probably priced by the outfitter person just for extra salt.
I reckon that that I'll look at what they do and just turn away, for me it won't hold value.
While I wouldn't be THRILLED with 1500 per faction I'd be much more inclined than per zone. I have friends who won't play due to the eso plus all dlc included but we'll call THESE chapters instead and charge(yes Zos, I'm sure you know the gaming community talks, and crown store nickel and dime, p2w, rumors, true or not can scare off potential customers)
Skyshard shortcut in my opinion isn't a p2w but a reasonable charge could go a long way(and possibly make you more money) to ease a money hungry, bad customer service, reputation. A charge per faction group > than charge per shard, or zone.

I was soooo hoping for this.
As someone who:
- Has all Skyshards and skill points possible on my main
- Has 14 and soon at least 16 characters
- Obtained about 30% of skyshards with other characters
- Did the Mages Guild 6 times
- Did the Psijic line 9 times
- Leveled all crafting to 50 on most of my characters
I was hoping that all skyshards would cost about 30% per character.
There's a breakpoint for me at which I won't buy if it's too ludicrous. At 30$ per character, that would be a chunk of change but I'd probably afford it. Any higher and I'm out of the skyshard purchasing game...
As for those who say that's p2w, I'd make them realize that it is situational. I've done so much legwork to get to where I am that farming for skyshard will take my enjoyment of the game away again (I've had the blues a few times).
I just hope the achivements are not cost-prohibitive....
I'm hoping they put it in line with the Mount upgrade packs.
750crowns for 10 lessons.
so 750 crowns for a zone that contains 10 or so skyshards would be somewhat reasonable.

I dont really agree with the 30$ thing...simply cuz it makes stuff close to the pay to win border...the higher it goes the more appeals the large pokets irl people...its already bad enough they decided to allow this kind of stuff in to the game...instead of finding other ways of making money...so yeah probably next will come story skipping tokens or all dungeons quests skip for skill points...maybe even pvp rank skill points skip where u can just buy ur GO rank...sure these are just things u can get in game but not "easily" and with actual heavy working and time consuming...but instead lets just throw in some money and get over it... nevermind all the people who been working hard and stick with the game.

If it will be very cheap, no one will bother collecting them the normal way, i.e playing the game.
ZOS will want players to pay an high cost for the privilege of skipping the mega grind of collecting skyshards.
Anything below 3K-4K crowns for a large zone will be unreasonable.
The cost may be even 5K+ for a large zone.

I hope not because it could argued that collecting multiple skyshards for the nth time is hardly playing the game. You're spending time on the game but do you seriously consider collecting skyshards for a character after collecting more than a thousand "playing the game"?
It's hard to read my tone but I'm not being aggressive, I'm genuinely curious to know if you think that collecting skyshards and doing quests for skill points over and over again after completing them on 1-2 character playing the game?
I'll tell you what I consider playing the game:
- Cyrodiil (when it works)
- Battlegrounds
- Trials
- Dungeons
What I named above are features, arguments you could use to sell a game. Collecting skyshards and doing the story or guild quests multiple times is only a feature the first time you do it. After that it's a chore.
It might be heavily opinionated but it is how I see it. You don't sell a game saying: when you create alts, you'll be able to redo all the quests and will have to go around Tamriel to collect skyshard to acquire skill points.

My build for skyshards on a new character is fjord, jailbresker, all divines with a shield, Steed Mundus and 3 swift.
You'll run faster than your horse with major gallop and will be able to complete zones in about 20 minutes. I'm just not willing to do it 14+ times. The advantage with this is that the speed bonus applies in delves so you speed through everything.
So considering this, I really want an account-wide option. I'm not going to pay 1.5k 12-14 times... that's a huge waste of money. Like one guy just said, they have to make it alt friendly...

I always liked the "Tamriel Hero" achievement and I got it several times.
The commitment & patience to do all quests is not something to take lightly
Same for Skyshards, it is time spent exploring & collecting them, even if not doing everything which is near them, such as quests.
