Skyshard crown cost

I'm willing to drop a chunk of cash on it but above 30-40k Crowns for my entire account, I'm out...

It's highly unlikely that they had someone like you in mind when deciding on a price.
They're probably expecting most people to buy a maximum of 1-5 zones for a single character and maybe a handful of crazies to buy all zones on one character.
The prices will be accordingly high.

Buying them for your entire account is an absolutely insane idea.

So you have accepted the principle of P2W.

Now all we are doing is arguing the price.

This is an abomination. It should either be free (like all your characters inheriting your highest CP level) or it shouldn’t be done.

Wonder what they will push into the cash shop after this. Slowly entering pay-to-win territory and people seem to be ok with it.

They've already stated during the Bethesda Play Day at PAX East that full skill lines are on the table.

I was still hoping this could be done. I'm really tired of collecting these stupid skyshards!

I still think shards should unlock for all chars, so I can enjoy the story with my alt without the need to collect every piece over and over again. Turns many ppl away from alts and decreases their playtime overall. It's like grabbing fast money and lose over time.

If you want to enjoy the story, you can just light attack your way through most of it. Enjoying the story is not impeded by skyshards. Getting into PvP/vet Trials a couple of hours after creating a character is impeded by skyshards.

Since we can't be gifted the skyshards and it's against TOS to sell gold/crowns for real money, would Zos be fine with trading crowns for a code for crowns from a website or store, since it's still gold for crowns? i'm not paying out of my pocket for these skyshards and I want to use my in-game currency to obtain something in-game.

I'm just saying that from the average estimation on here, it looks bleak even though none of us know the pricing yet.

That means that I probably won't buy any because you can make a skyshard running build (fjord, jailbreaker, Steed, all divines) and finish a large zone in 15-20 minutes. So between paying 1k Crown and 15-20 minutes, I'll keep my money.

Now to answer your question, it relates to the discussion because I have stockpiled Crowns for this and if pricing is unreasonable from the perspective of a user that has 14+ characters, I'll be selling my Crowns to users for gold. That's all.

If they make it too expensive then what's the point in implementing it? Part of the cost has already been factored in to the time you spent getting the skyshards in the first place, no? It took me roughly 3-6 months to get all skyshards for one character, granted, I did those while I got Tamriel Hero and 'The Explorer' achievements which no doubt added a lot of time. The worst of the whole process, though, was that at least 1/3 of the time is spent in loading screens.

So, rather than buying skyshards, I would rather pay crowns to have all skyshard locations added to the zone guide maps for all chars. Because on PS4, one of the most time consuming things, is looking up where each skyshard is and it's obnoxious to ahve to do that on every character. Like, why doesn't my character have the ability to write stuff down in a journal of some sort? It makes console characters the most inefficient explorer known to mer. On that note, add the survey locations to the zone guide maps along with it! It's ridiculous to think I'd have to pay for this feature, but jeebus.

Please @ZOS_GinaBruno, release an account-wide package at a respectable price! 😭😭

Edit: I know you're community manager but you have to have some pull over marketing! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I must've collected 1600-1800 skyshards until now, I'm done! I'm usually cheap but now I'm willing to pay, just not a stupid amount...
What a disgusting display your begging is, don't you have any sense of pride? You guys wished for this, even mocked people who wanted that to be implemented into the game. Now show some spine and buy it.

Self-righteous are we? I didn't ask for this but and don't want it if it's not gonna be account-wide. If you look in the history of threads a lot went like: "Please make skyshards account wide". Never made a thread like this but saw them.

Now get real kid, nobody asked for per-zone, per-character system at wtv Crowns a pop. THAT should be disgusting to you if you have half a mind. I don't know if you read this properly but I'll repeat again for you: nobody asked for THIS.

I never thought ZOS would go down that road, I thought it would never happen, not because I was averse to the concept, I just didn't believe it would happen. Seeing it will happen, I'm hoping for a reasonable outcome.

The forum warrior is talking about pride? Before you insult me look at yourself first, you're coming into a thread about something you have no interest in (assuming from your disgust). Tell me, is this p2w to you? What irks you about this happening? Is it destroying the sanctity of your game? Tell me, how are you so hostile?

Your problem that it is too expensive for you. ZoS is a business, not your friend. I can't wait until they introduce the Guilds too. Maybe if you beg hard enough they make them giftable.

Whatever I get from the crown store has to be within my monthly crowns that I get from ESO+. I don't like spending more money than I already am. So if it's less than 1650 per zone I might consider it. The only zone I would jump all over at this point would be Cyrodiil. I have found 2 skyshards there already but I don't like to PvP. I don't mind hunting for skyshards except when I'm in danger of being attacked by other players.

Pretty much done with them Bobby so I won't be buying either.

My problem is that it could be expensive to a point where there's no sense in buying them st all. I'm saying in other posts that I think 300$ for account-wide unlock would be reasonable. At that price, sales would be higher than they would be otherwise. ZOS is banking on the fact that, on the long term, users are not going to realize how much money they're dropping on this new feature. Skyshards are fast enough to grind where I can probably do 1 toon a day. Now I would like there to be a shortcut and my price is 300$. It's like any business deal, if my price doesn't match what you expect, no deal. Very simple. My asking nicely (saying please...) is just a plead for a "reasonable" price.

Making it 5000$ for an account makes no sense. When you don't really want to sell something, you price it higher than you would if you actually wanted to sell. If they price it ridiculously, they're telling you to just go grind them that's all. They're only going to catch the whales an the unaware.

Again, I see you're being hostile to the fact that I said please. You see this as begging, I see this as asking nicely. It's better than: "GIVE THEM TO ME FOR FREE!!". I mean, one has a better chance to succeed than the other even if it's very low.

Now you may have a sad boring life and that's why you're being so trashy to others well it might not be the case but I'll just ignore you from now on. When someone is that gratuitously hostile, there is no discussion (it's a discussion forum btw). There is no discussion with someone that's just barking at passersby.

    Have a good.... Nah....

You do have to earn the achievement on at least one character before you can buy it on alts, so you would have to at least take one character of each alliance into Cyrodiil and get the skyshards in their third of the map.

I'm hoping that these will be priced cheaply. My reasoning being, it's being released a long time into the game so most people have at least a few of each zones skyshards on most of their characters. If it's expensive, hardly anyone is going to bother if they already have a couple; if they make it cheap then people are more likely get partially completed zones as a time saver...

I'm really hoping they introduce a complete package tho, I'd be much more likely to get that than individual zones

Apart from those who are vehemently opposed, the general response I read for a lot of the users is that you expect them to be priced outrageously but would hope for it to be cheap (my interpretation, might be biased but it's what I can tell from what I've retained).

My pov on it is that if it's accessible to a point where one could purchase the packages on multiple characters without increasing the limit on your credit card, it'll be a very positive thing for those with many characters and an even better one for those with 1 or 2 alts. At that price point, there would be no reason NOT to get them. At 1-1.5k Crowns, my 20 minutes doing a zone will be better invested and I'll keep my Crowns to sell them to other users and to buy stuff from the Guild store.

ZOS never fails to disappoint when it comes to monetization, so i suggest y'all to expect the worst. They are simply bad and greedy in that regard.

Let's try not to paint everyone with the same broad stroke. The odds are, their business people are to blame, not the developers or designers.

I really don't know what you mean by blaming the business. This business could be done in 9.999.999 better ways. Hunger is hunger, greed is greed. There are gazillions of examples of this.

For example, did you believe when Rich said they won't do class change token because it's hard to do? Did anyone actually buy that? They take their players for bunch of fools then expect respect? I'll tell here as i tell everywhere: ZOS won't make class change token because selling everything bit by bit instead is at least 10 times the price! Starting with skyshards soon, here is your reason.

So, i can actually very well point ZOS, or say whoever is in charge of monetization in there, and say they are greedy af. It's a fact.

your delusions are not a basis for fact.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but people keep bringing it up, so I'll mention it again.

The argument that ZoS won't earn anything on it if they make it too expensive falls flat. They already have items in the Crown Store (Outfit slots, Werewolf/Vampire, etc) that are way too expensive for the value that they give you. These items still have the same high price, even if most people would consider it insane to buy them.
