We should be able to name weapons and armor we enchant/upgrade

think it would add a bit of penalization to the game. We are able to do it in other elder scrolls games, why not here?

Um, while I agree in principal, have you seen the names of some of the characters? Can you imagine what people would also name their weapons?

What I would like is an option to pick a weapon name from a list, but only offered if you make a legendary weapon.

Something like <weapon> of <pick from adjective list> <pick from noun list>.

If the lists of words were fairly extensive you could pick a good combination without getting any...odd...names.

I thought the second character slot was only if you had unlocked force sensitive. Am I remembering it wrong?

This is such a bad idea.
it will be nano seconds before we would have idiots running around with their "Soft pink swords of death" or other such ridiculous creations.

I support this idea. And obviously the OP meant personalization, not penalization.

Um yeah naming gear would be cool with me but I have a normal name for my character....I can only imagine what some of the other players would come up with....

If your response to the ridiculuos name issue is that it "doesn't matter because only the owner sees the name", then my question would be "then why include the feature"? What value does naming the item bring if you're the only one that sees it? How is this worth development time & server space?

U already get to have your name on the crafted item like UO style :P (god i played Ultima Online.. w/e) isn't enough ?

I agree with the OP, having 'Ebon sword of health absorb' just doesn't really fit in with how i see my dude. I want a badass name for my crafted weapons. Even if only i see it, it would be great. Anyway, who cares what others call their weapons or if you even see it or not, it cant be any worse than some of the names.

" I will smite thee with my trusty blade, the Ebon sword of health absorb! " Ouch.
