Any other profession ? What do you mean ?
Is there any other profession outside videogames that require such complex mechanics on a central server ? The video game industry is ahead of everyone else in terms of technical complexity in digital technologies "for the masses". Every company in the video game industry has downtime issues.
I understand that people want to access the service they pay for. But I also understand that, when using such advanced services, sometimes it just doesn't work right away.
And finally, ZOS (like every other video game company) know that players behave like addicts to a certain extent, therefore such downtimes have little impact on their income or market share, and as a result don't invest much into reducing those downtimes.
Want players to spoon feed you the issues, document with videos so that you feed the software coder to fix. Wrong mindset. I already said, multiple times, pay me 10k crowns for every exploit i show you and game would be much better.
Please remind me, when was the last time that google, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter or reddit had an 11 hour down time and/or weekly maintenance for several hours?anitajoneb17_ESO wrote: »The video game industry is ahead of everyone else in terms of technical complexity in digital technologies "for the masses". I sleep soundly knowing that every single person complaining in this thread and others could up and stop playing the game, and the rest of us would continue on in peace with absolutely no dent in the ESO bottom line. Things would continue just fine without you. Vocal minority, you're not fooling me.
Do you pay Eso Plus every month?
If not, without people like myself, this game would die ...because we spend cash to
keep this game running.
So while I agree there is a lot of complaining , I believe that I , we (all of the playerbase)

Turn a descent game and lock it behind a cash paywall...

No dinero = no Eso, its that simple.
I do, and have for years. I also spend an inordinate amount of money on crowns and crates - haters will see he's part of the problem.
My point is that, I don't think the people making trolly posts and whining about extending the event and event tickets.. I don't think they are the majority. I think most people see maintenance and just accept it. I think some people view it as reasonable but will still come here for an explanation - which is key I think. This is the one thing I think would help. Regardless if I had to sum up my post in a sentence - if you don't like and cant accept (what has come to be) the reality that is playing this game, you should stop playing. It's not about the money, but even if it was - I truly believe that if the whiners on this forum all stopped paying.. ESO would be just fine. And a lot of people would be way less stressed.
Re explanations - this I think would be helpful.
Why are the patch notes so slim for such a long window? Why was it extended? Are you migrating servers? Let us know! I think that would be helpful.
I pay money. I don't get the goods in time. This is what is happening now.
ZOS are simply struggling, big time as most of the competent staff have left them
They ran into issues?, Good excuse, there is hundreds of issues/exploits and cheats going on in ESO but when i log back in they are always still present.
Want players to spoon feed you the issues, document with videos so that you feed the software coder to fix. Wrong mindset. I already said, multiple times, pay me 10k crowns for every exploit i show you and game would be much better.
Pay for the game. Subscribe for years and years and somehow the player is expected to pay ZOS for the privilege to document exploits in shabby coding that has little to no QA before releasing. Wrong mindset.
Continued patience?, that ran out around 4 years ago for me @ZOS_GinaBruno
I agree, the playerbase got lazy too by adopting exploits ZOS qualified as "acceptable" mistakes.
Get rid of AC , group proc bombing etc and you'll see a big improvement in the game's overall performance...
But , lets not talk bout bugs and what ZOS cant be bothered to fix..or we will get the undercover
PR hamsters and chimps chastise us for yelling out loud we want a harder game ^^ lol

Profession as in literally any other job out there. Dealing with people's lives for example, if you make an error, you pay for it. Clearly someone has messed something up hence the extension, therefore should be held accountable. If people can't advance along with such "advanced services" then we shouldn't really be using/applying them. All games have downtime I'm fully aware, been playing MMO's for nearly 20 years but for such a small scale patch we have a very long downtime. If it were an expansion etc I would get it, but not a 166mb patch, or whatever size it is.

Getting rid of CP calculations would improve performance probably...but that is another fight for another day...

It was my favorite Atari VCR/2600 game, and I was so happy when I discovered the Mako in the first Mass Effect game... that was a nod to Moon Patrol for sure. - Other favorites were Vanguard, Dig Dug and Ghost Manor.Hmm. I'm not sure I have Moon Patrol. Might have to visit eBay....

500 Crowns for every exploit and I'd still do it. And maybe the free crowns would make ZOS actually investigate it and fix it in a timely manner instead of releasing yet another crown store item that 80% of players will not purchase due to the intensely high micro transaction cost of Crowns.

Your bad timing is only your own fault. Sucks, but that’s the way it is.

Much better explanation that I do agree with.
I do believe though , that if no one actually speaks up to ZOS' false promises
nothing will change.
True though, whining aint the option, criticism however should be welcome.
Paying player or not, we are not getting a quality service as of the last few months.
So I guess its actually normal for people to start making a fuss . [perhaps hoping ZOS will actually fix something].
When tickets to support and criticism fails, then you see anger...which pretty much sums
up what is going on in this thread right now.
