Crafting excess for alts

I know when you craft something it displays the character who made it. I normally put extra pots and food do when I log, it goes quicker for dailies. Am I able to use the stowed food and pots on my alts?

Edit: spelling

Yes, I just keep a stack or two of all the food and potions/poisons in my bank for all the daily writs. Works perfectly fine.
Tenacious Dreamer - Hurricane Herald - Godslayer - Dawnbringer - Gryphon Heart - Tick Tock Tormenter - Immortal Redeemer - Dro-m'Athra Destroyer
The Unchained - Oathsworn - Bedlam's Disciple - Temporal Tempest - Curator's Champion - Fist of Tava - Invader's Bane - Land, Air, and Sea Supremacy - Zero Regrets - Battlespire's Best - Bastion Breaker - Ardent Bibliophile - Subterranean Smasher - Bane of Thorns - True Genius - In Defiance of Death - No Rest for the Wicked - Nature's Wrath - Undying Endurance - Relentless Raider - Depths Defier - Apex Predator - Pure Lunacy - Mountain God - Leave No Bone Unbroken - CoS/RoM/BF/FH Challenger

    Just so it's 100% clear.

Daily crafting writs - Alchemy & Provisioning can be made on any character and transferred through the bank
All other professions must be made by the character turning in the writ (you can pre-make them though)

Master crafting writs - the items must be made by the character turning in the writ.

Lol yeah I got that one, and that's because you have to accept the quest on that character.

I keep my daily writ pots and food in the bank for all characters. Addons can just pull what is needed from the bank as needed.

Daily crafting writs - the items can be made by anybody/any character (even bought if you so desired)

Master crafting writs - the items must be made by the character turning in the writ.

Wait, what? Did this get changed "recently"?

I thought provisioning (food/drink) was the only thing you could craft on your main and use the items on alts for daily crafting writ turn-in...

Does this also work for all other professions too? Not that it really matters with anything except alchemy (since my alts don't have all the passives unlocked for bulk crafting), but I thought all other daily crafting writs (BS/WW/CL/EN/AL/JC) had to be crafted by the character turning in the writ.

This is groundbreaking information if so, and I apparently missed whenever this change was implemented because I tried it several years ago and, like I mentioned, only provisioning worked in this regard.

P.S. Not doubting you @tmbrinks since you and I share a passion for crafting, I'm just making sure I'm understanding correctly.

I can guarantee, beyond a shadow of a doubt, as I've been doing it for like 3 years this way, that it works for Alchemy and Provisioning, as I just keep stacks of those in my bank, and pull them out as needed.

I guess I have to rescind my statement with that being for "all" crafts, I could have sworn it did (I just always did them on every character, as it's easier with add-ons to do so, I feel sorry for the console players who don't have them :disappointed: ) I just tested it with a character picking up the Clothing/Jewelry/Enchanting writs today (at max level). Proceeded to make the items on an alternate character, transferring them through the bank, and it did NOT give the completion for the writ :disappointed:

I will edit the original post to reflect this. I'm sorry for the misinformation.

The creator on alchemy and provisioning products is a bit more flexible than with other items. If I craft some potions on one character, transfer via bank to another, and then make some more, they will stack, and the most recent crafter will have credit for the stack.

Recent updates to inventory in the game have also seemed to make it really fast for lazy writ crafter to pull the needed items from the bank. It is practically instantaneous now.

    @Feric51

    Thanks for the correction.

I still learned something as I thought alchemy fell in with the other crafts. Now I can craft stacks of the tier-1 sips for my alts until I get enough spare skill points to max out the line. It's been painful crafting 1-2 sips at a time for those, lol.

And yeah, I'm on console. And yeah, it sucks, lol. I pre-craft 9 days' worth of material items (3-each of the weapons/armor), usually 30 days worth of glyphs (10 each), 12 days of jewelry (16/12) and full stacks of provisioning/alchemy to cut down on the amount of time I'm cycling through the characters. I also leave all of it in each character's inventory since it would be a pain to summon the banker and pull the stuff out manually for each one without the addons PC has. I pretty much need to have the characters at 180+ inventory slots to do this though, which entails a certain expense for bag upgrades right off the bat, but oh well. Such is the life of a crafter!
