Pro Transmogrification Thread

kevin.oconnell.04b16_ESO
By definition transmogrification is: The act of changing into a different form or appearance.

I fear as ESO develops and the Min/Maxers get here everyone will be wearing the same gear end game. I also don't like how garish the end game gear looks; all of it is really flash and ugly.

Transmogrification has been used in other MMO's to allow players to change the appearance of there gear to that of another item they own.

I want to be-able to have my character look the way I want it, I want to be an Imperial ranger, not some wierdo who like wings on their head.

Please allow us to play the character we want!!

That's part of the reason they have racial styles and other styles for crafting, giving you the option to wear various styles of armor.

Crafted gear will be on par with loot dropped from most dungeons, as crafters have a HUGE amount of options for crafting gear, there are even special crafting station in the world that give unique set bonuses.

I doubt we will see transmogrification, based on crafting it seems pointless.

I honestly hope we don't see transmog in this game. "That other game" has it, and I drove my self crazy trying to get the right pieces to make my character look the way I wanted. But I love all the gear in The Elder Scrolls games. So no matter what I'm wearing, I think I look not only appropriate, but amazing.
Why not? Something has to work. Once, I dug a pit and filled it with clouds. Or was it clowns? Doesn't matter. It didn't slow him down. To be honest, it wasn't the best idea. And it really began to smell. Must have been clowns. Clouds don't smell bad. They taste of butter! And tears. - Sheogorath

I'd love to see this ingame at some point. Being able to choose the visuals of what my character wears has been a high point of other MMO's I've played.

Personally, I'd prefer an appearance tab/wardrobe over transmogrification. In any case, I'm all in favor of letting us choose our looks within reasonable limits (new appearance must match the actual armor type worn (light/medium/heavy) ).

Id like to be able to make any gear look like my own races'. Im a Nord. Tired of getting gear that looks like sissy elf stuff. Lizard gear is ok looking but Im a damn Nord and would like to look like one.

You can always craft your own gear. Your own racial style is known to you right away, you only need racial motif books for the looks of other races and with enchantments and the ability to improve your gear quality, there's no reason not to engage in crafting.

The main issue for me is that in many cases the low(er) level gear looks more appropriate for my vision of my characters and I'd like to keep that look rather than being forced into a, for me, less desirable look.

I do craft. Problem occurs with quest gear better than what I craft, and blues.

Blue quality gear aside, quest rewards are generally not really better than crafted gear. Especially when you improve your crafted gear.
Most of the green gear from quests goes right into trait research for me or gets deconstructed.
At level 20 I'm still in all nord gear, no way I'd wear anything those milk-drinking Dunmer and Argonians make...

I agree. I wish we could transmog. I hate all the high level armor looks, for my character.

I also hate the idea of everyone looking the same (even with racial styles, the options are limited.).

im in a Love/hate relationship with Transmog

i mean its seriously cool that you can look anyway you want make your own mixed gear Etc...

But its one of the main immersion breaker for me when 50% of the playerbase runing arround with females in a Bra...........

Yes, this game desperately needs this feature. I thought they had mentioned awhile ago that an appearance tab would be in the game? Bleh. My guy is veteran rank 1 and none of his stuff matches lol.

Not only that, but some of the lower level crafted sets have cool colors, and we should be able to use those for higher level and end game gear if we want.
