Quest help.

Can any one tell me why Zenimax decided to do phasing and the like the way they did? More specifically, why can I not help someone do quests I've already completed. I'm playing an MMORPG, I've already granted them suspension of disbelief, so don't say Elder Scrolls is story based. I hate to compare, but SWTOR is free to play and they do instances fine. I cant get in unless someone ON the quest goes in first. Now, I don't want to play SWTOR, that's why I'm here. I just want to know why they would exclude people like this in an MMO.

I just had someone ask me to help, they had died in a quest several times, and I had just completed it. I WANTED to help that's WHY I play these games, for the random Co-op. I joined up and couldn't get into the quest instance. BS!

I love this game, and I hope the Devs listen to all of our feedback before the sheep and such jump ship.

While a game being F2P or P2P makes no real difference as to why something should or should not be in there.

I do agree that the instancing could be reworked a little better.
Maybe something as simple as ticking a box to share instance for quests, as going to help someone then find you can not or in a different instance isnt that helpful for anyone

TOR does have a good system for it, where you can select to go in the the same story instance ( if you are on it) or the first person in activates the quest, If further along a pop up happens and you have to agree to enter so it makes you aware

I'm agreeing that the SWTOR style is great. And this wouldn't even have anything to do with the "blah blah making ESO yet another generic mmo blah blah" cos seriously as it is currently in this game, it just doesn't work at all.

I'm definitely loving how different this game is, this just doesn't seem functional.

Actually you can help them. They have to be party leader and they have to zone in first. I had helped one of my guildies do a quest that I had issues myself for which I had help with also. My guildie was already in the zone when I zoned in.

I'll have to try again, I guess. Maybe it was a bug. Was your guildie's quest area behind a door? That was the issue, I could not open the door to the story instance, and they were party leader.

He was already in the zone. He had to defeat Norion. I used "P" to bring up the party member and used the teleport to player and it took me inside past the door. I then had to run all the way to were he was.

As for the guildies that helped me. We were all outside the door. I zoned in. They came in after me but I don't know if they used the party menu or what.

Good to know, I didn't even think of the travel to player option. Thanks.
