Dying all the time in pvp

I feel like I get killed super fast in pvp, but can barely affect others. Yes, I have managed to kill one or two players in a one on one encounter, but usually I just get hammered.

I'm playing a Nightstalker and use a combination of bow/class stuff to go back and forth between mana and stamina. I'm also under level, at 17 - so, I'm wondering if the problem lies in my weapons, lack of critical hits and all kinds of buffs that I just don't have at lvl 17.

How are your CC abilities? Is your positioning optimal for your style of play? Where are you on the map and how are you engaged with your opponents; are you in the questing areas or around the keeps? On offense or defense?

Remember to kite your opponents. Even if you have blues and epics, try not to stand toe to toe; stay agile and mobile. Practice, practice, practice. And most of all, if you forget everything save one, remember this; it's just pixel, you shouldn't feel a thing.

BTW: Players that enter Cyrodiil have their stats (Health, Stamina and Magicka) bumped up to Lvl 50. However, your skills are not; so, if you at Lvl 17 encounter a foe that is say, Lvl 30 (s)he will have you out gunned. The good news is, that a group of lowbies in beta have taken down higher lvl players. Game on!

They key to survival is to always stick with your group. It is easy to get tunnel vision when fighting, especially when you're chasing that guy with a sliver of health who needs just one more arrow to the knee - and suddenly you're gutted by his friends because you didn't pay attention and ran straight into their group alone.

So just make sure to move and stick with a group - and don't chase kills - if they get away, let them go, there's plenty of other targets.
