If you mean the daily writs, then the answer is gold, mats, surveys (which lead to more mats and gold), and master writs, which give you writ vouchers to but things like crafting stations etc.

I earn around 30k gold a day from writs, before selling any gold mats produced. Others will make more than this.

You get Experience, 5k gold, Raw materials and writ vouchers (per day, this adds up very fast if you play daily). Writ vouchers are used for recipes from the furniture vendor. You can just sell the writs for a decent profit.

The 3 main things that you get is inspiration (xp for leveling up professions), mats (some of them are rare/gold) and surveys, which are basically maps with material caches locations. Here you can read more: link

I do the daily writs as my main source of income in the game. I have been doing them for a while now, so I have some money and materials built up, but my current routine goes about as follows

Purchase around 1 million in raw materials (you could farm these as well if you don't have the gold, and if you have the time)
Refine the materials - get about 400k worth of "improvement" materials that I could sell
Do daily writs. You get about 4.6k (if you have ESO+, and doing jewelry) per day, per character. I do them on 27 characters a day now (as I said... it's my main source of income) (12 of them are on an account that doesn't have Summerset or ESO+, so no Jewelry writs, and no extra gold)
    The materials I buy will last me about a month - 4.6k gold/writ x 27 characters/day x 30 days = 3.7 million gold.
You also get surveys, lower level mats, gold improvement mats, and master writs (if you do them at max level) which can be worth another 1-2 million per month, depending on what you do with them

All-in-all, I can profit about 4 million a month from doing writs (I also do the master writs, and am now selling items that you can buy from the vendor)

With the changes that are coming to crafting with the Wraithstone patch, they should be even more self-sufficient once those start with the return of current level materials from doing writs, and thus be even more profitable

Tenacious Dreamer - Hurricane Herald - Godslayer - Dawnbringer - Gryphon Heart - Tick Tock Tormenter - Immortal Redeemer - Dro-m'Athra Destroyer
The Unchained - Oathsworn - Bedlam's Disciple - Temporal Tempest - Curator's Champion - Fist of Tava - Invader's Bane - Land, Air, and Sea Supremacy - Zero Regrets - Battlespire's Best - Bastion Breaker - Ardent Bibliophile - Subterranean Smasher - Bane of Thorns - True Genius - In Defiance of Death - No Rest for the Wicked - Nature's Wrath - Undying Endurance - Relentless Raider - Depths Defier - Apex Predator - Pure Lunacy - Mountain God - Leave No Bone Unbroken - CoS/RoM/BF/FH Challenger

Holy mother of god man. I could never even imagine anything close to this. I log in to do quests and dungeons , do you even have time to play with that daily schedule?

If he has Lazy Writ Crafter addon it makes it faster. It autocrafts the Writs for you. Still crazy for that many characters, I hated doing it with 8. Now I only do it with one. I hate logging in and out all the time.

Some days, when I am busy with work, it's all I do to be honest. I will miss a few days when there are events, or other things going on that I want to do in game. It takes me about an hour and a half to do all of them, and I usually use that time to catch up on news, social media, tv shows I might want to watch on my other screen. I might be eating dinner as well while I do them. So, I'm using time where I'm not 100% focused on the game to do them.

Whereas, if I'm questing, doing trials/dungeons, that's generally all I'm doing.

yeah, Lazy Writ Crafter. I have the banker, all the alchemy and provisioning are pre-made and in my bank, so I just have to summon my banker to pull those out. Alinor loop in Summerset is quick. I've gotten it down to it taking me about 2 minutes per character to do the actual writs, and depending on load screens can log out and back in in about a minute.

It is a grind, I won't deny that. But it also saves me from having to grind for the monster helm styles.. I'll just buy them... I don't have to buy upgrade mats with gold, since I get them from writs. and if I need more gold, I can sell the gold improvement materials as well.

In an MMO, you are probably going to have to grind something, if you want to get nearly everything.. I chose to do writs. I know it's not for everybody, and it's nice that there are multiple options.

I know people who are running Spindle over and over right now to get the monster helm sets, so that they can make some gold. I feel like that's too much RNG for me, writs, to me, are a more stable source of income.

I also do the daily crafting writs as a way to make money-- although I can make more money each day by thieving. I used to do the daily crafting writs on 4 characters (3 NA, 1 EU), but now I just do it on 2 (1 NA, 1 EU). I don't use any add-ons, but it doesn't take long at all to do the writs-- unless I have to go farm some materials first.

The only thing I can add to the benefits already mentioned is that you do get regular experience in addition to inspiration, so you can increase your overall level in addition to increasing the levels of your crafting skill lines. I haven't done any quests with my main EU character-- other than any that have come up in connection with events-- and I've been able to progress him to CP 20, primarily by doing daily crafting writs.

The writ vouchers you get by doing master crafting writs are also extremely useful for buying storage chests. And now that I've gotten all 8 of those, I can start using the writ vouchers to buy other things.

Also, I enjoy crafting gear for other players from time to time. I still have 1.5 traits to research on necklaces (1 in progress and 1 more after that), but I can craft 9-trait sets on everything else-- on the NA server only; my main EU character still has a lot of researching left to do. However, I don't craft gear as a way to make money, so I tend to charge on the low side for it, and in some cases I'll even craft for free-- if the other player supplies all of the mats, or if I'm drowning in the mats and am eager to free up some inventory space. (I don't have ESO Plus, so my crafting bag is locked.)
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

If you have at least one CP160 character, and need to level alt-characters after L50, they can easily be used to level skills on any character. They can also be a CP farm for the same CP160 characters.

All XP rewards are scaled to character level with the max given from any source at CP160. The XP from any type of crafting writ is always at character level.

CP160 character will earn 822 XP for a Normal Writ with just ESO+. Add Enlightenment and you jump to 3280 XP each. Add an XP event, enlightenment and 150% booster and you can get 10768 XP each. 7 writs and you are getting 75376 XP per character with 18844 XP going to each skill and as much as 113064 XP going to a Skill Tree, if all skills are same tree.

If you can do Master Writs during the same event you can pull 242508 XP each for BS-WW-Cloth and 161688 XP for Alchemy-Provisioning-Enchant.

I'm still sipping last Breda Juice on my alt-crafters/future Healer/DPS and they have finished all their build skills and most of both Destro and Resto Staff.

[PSA] Crafting Writs also have Experience (XP) Reward
