Mages Guild Quests and the Warewolf Quest

With out giving spoilers, ill say that when you get to the shivering isles and their the final boss for the mages guild quest, or when you save the town from warewolfes only to find out the duke is one and he attacks his family - they, as end bosses, ARE HARD I do not think they were meant to be soloed. I am usually one/two/three shot killed by them and I am their level decked out in "quest gear" (gear you find on quests). I play as a templar, mostly focusing on experimenting right now with skills but I have some skills in the sun burst area and some in the alderic section. I mostly use two handed weapons and thee first two skills of that skill line, morphed.

I also ware medium to light armour (trying to be a templar battle mage) and These specific quests are for level 8-9, I am level 9 al most 10 and I fear I cannot do them till Im level 12-13, by then their xp and their rewards will be useless....

Is it me, or are end quest chain boss battles hard?

    CC, Movement and Auto Attack are your friends. Some questmobs are kind of harder, but on the other hand they are bosses so the should be atleast a bit of a challange.

    I agree - But these require me to leave, level up 3-4 levels and come back... So either I fail that hard or these are a bit more difficult then they should be.

    The duke wasn't hard. It was simply kite into fire, beat him down, rinse and repeat. There is typically a trick to all the bosses that turn the fight from hard to easy.

    Spoiler:

    Didn't even have to fight the duke. I mean, werewolves and last goodbyes to family members? Forget about it!

    The Shivering Isle quest didn't have trouble as well. I just remembered interrupting and stunning the thing a lot.
    Winter-Time
    by Robert Louis Stevenson
    Late lies the wintry sun a-bed,
    A frosty, fiery sleepy-head;
    Blinks but an hour or two; and then,
    A blood-red orange, sets again.

    Before the stars have left the skies,
    At morning in the dark I rise;
    And shivering in my nakedness,
    By the cold candle, bathe and dress.

    Close by the jolly fire I sit
    To warm my frozen bones a bit;
    Or with a reindeer-sled, explore
    The colder countries round the door.

    When to go out, my nurse doth wrap
    Me in my comforter and cap;
    The cold wind burns my face, and blows
    Its frosty pepper up my nose.

    Black are my steps on silver sod;
    Thick blows my frosty breath abroad;
    And tree and house, and hill and lake,
    Are frosted like a wedding cake.

    mage guild quests (the ones that take you into Sheogorath's realm anyway) are all solo only. They're all more challenging than the average stuff. As someone else said, CC, movement and auto attack. ZOS is trying to teach you in this game to manage your resources instead of spamming in an all out attack.

    The original poster has a valid concern. The learning curve is quite steep most especially for someone who isn't already an avid keyboard warrior. We have to be cognizant of the fact that a lot of players are used to either having control pad support, or playing a slower paced game. It really is on the hard side for the complete novice.

    These early bosses aren't very forgiving at all. They hit both hard and fast, and to make matters worse they reset on the player that tries to compensate for their lack of experience by whittling. It does go beyond challenging, and quickly devolves into a feeling of hopelessness.

    As a novice I know I will get better with this games controls and mechanics, but it isn't reasonable to expect players to have a full grasp on the mechanics this early. The original poster has the right idea though. Grinding to return later will in the long run develop both their character, and their muscle memory. That said it is disappointing to have to grind so heavily so early into such a content rich game.

    It is a fair point.

    There are a few of those solo dungeons that have quite a big difficulty hike.

    Well, they have a difficulty spike depending on class and player.

    I have no problems whatsoever with my Templar and Dragon Knight but got squished like berries in a juicer on my Sorc.

    I took it as a sign not to play as a Sorc because I suck at it.

    I came across the same problem with my Sorc , until i figured out , that i don't have to spam crystal shards in his face all day and that i can simply kite the little dinosaur around and jump out of his attacks , at that point in the game , you already got a lot of prompts to block , dodge and interrupt some attack types , you must pay attention and understand that this game is not created with the face-tanking of mobs in mind. Just pay attention to the animations and use light and heavy attacks on mobs , interrupt your cast and run to the side if you seem the adds preparing for a big attack , if you are too far for an interrupt and so on. The learning curve is not that steep , honestly , i only died from bass grade mobs , that were in quests , when i was not paying attention to the body language of the mob
