Milegates seem a little imbalanced.

As much as I hate it when AD stands at the damn DC milegates to pewpew- what is the purpose of allowing DC to hop over milegates from their side while the gates are destroyed? So, this setup gives DC the advantage over AD. On the EP/AD sides of the bridges no one can pass over a bridge when they're destroyed. You have to either repair or use the goatpath- which both factions can do. That's pretty balanced.

What about between EP and DC milegates? Can one side pass over the milegate while it's collapsed?

EP can cross over the destroyed Milegates, DC cannot.

Neither faction can cross if both the milegate and the stairs are destroyed, which does happen occasionally.

And there are ways around when the gates are down.

Balance is boring. See Tic tac toe where you will always stale mate against a competent player. Or RPS where there's only 3 choices as to what to do.

THey said there were going to be goat paths... There are only like 3 in the entire game and they are so damn far from the gates its not worth it. It would've been better for there to be a very small stretch of the bridge that you could still cross if you jumped while mounted that way making it so if you aren't fighting you can still cross.

Mile gates are a different issue. As with what I mentioned in reference to bridges there should be a tunnel or something nearby that you can use to get around it but also make it a choke point so you can only fit a few people going through it and if you get attacked while in it you'd be kinda screwed.

At partial destruction, DC can go south over Ash milegate and EP can go west over the Chalman milegate. But it is also a one-way trip for those factions, so someone caught on the wrong side during an altercation is easy meat.

They aren't balanced in terms of symmetry, but that doesn't mean they are inbalanced in terms of balance, if that makes sense.

Really, the only change that needs to be made, imo, is make the bridges passable somehow by AD when destroyed but not to EP. Perhaps a height differential that enables a jump or just an easy river crossing angle in general--then all factions would have preferential access in one direction.

That’s about spot on. Of coure- getting AD to actually push past the bridge instead of fighting on it... is another issue. :D

The EP/DC milegate is worse. The DC side is on a downhill slope so there is not a lot of spots to place siege. At the DC/EP milegate EP can place more siege than DC. At the DC/AD milegate AD can place more siege than DC because the terrain on the AD side is flat. And AD can avoid the bridges altogether if they can grab the town which requires no siege; and blood port in and from there they can go in 4 different directions.

You mean grab the town on the opposite side of all the bridges that are down? Just funnel right through that goatpath like pigs to a slaughter.

There are 3 bridges spaced out. You should be able to keep at least one up. Sieging bridges is boring and gives no AP. Unless people are cult players I don't see them keeping all 3 bridges down perpetually.

From my perspective half of AD couldn't care if the bridges were up or down, a quarter wants them down the rest want them up.

All it seems to have done is reduce the farming by the usual suspects.

Have you ever actually seen someone defending the goat paths? Or Lunar Fang bridge? I haven't.
