New scoring and Campaign alliance structure

We have a lot of complaints about nights capping so how about as a solution we implement the following

Account bound alliance

With one Tamriel you can start any where ... So why not let players play through the story and by the end of it having played all three sides they may decide to stay loyal to the faction they feel is most suited to them

This wouldean changing how cyrodil works though, at the start of the campaign you pick not only the campaign but the faction you wish to play for and all characters are assigned to that faction for the duration of the campaign ... You can leave it running like now and stay as you are or pay AP to switch faction or faction and campaign or just campaign


Secondly ... Scoring

Instead of scoring by what you own at the end of every hour where night capping can essentially let one side build up a massive score as they own everything the majority of the time

The score is only updated if during that hour the keep was contested

So if AD try taking Chalman from EP and succeed then AD get the score, if EP successfully defend it They get the score.

If it switches back with in the same score window then each team gain a point

Obviously the finer details would still need to be figured out but I think this would keep campaign scores closer and mean that scores would increase for all factions when they're competing for keeps rather than when the campaign is empty and just happens to be going to the team who stayed up the latest

    People have been asking for some kind of alliance lock for awhile now. I'm not sure if that would help with night capping, since even when there was an alliance lock there was still night capping.

    As for your scoring idea, it would be easily exploited. For example, during low population times you only defend for the first 45 minutes or so of the timer then cap resources at the end of the eval. You gets points for defending and capping at the end, while the other alliance gets nothing.

    I won't respond to the scoring part because at this point, I simply don't care enough.

    As for alliance locking.

    When I log in to ESO every day, I look at Vivec map and decide if I wanna play EP or DC with my guild FLAME based on who is zerging the map less, so we can find interesting fights easily and kill zergs rather than surf them.

    Later at night I play with my other PvP guild High Latency, usually on AD.

    The majority of us old timer PvPers choose the faction we want to play based on where we will have the best fights and which friends we want to play with at the time.

    If ZOS would lock my account so I can only play with some of my friends every month, and am limited to playing a faction that at times holds the majority of the map, I am out of the game that very moment.
    Most of us old timers are.

    With the slim population left in PvP in Eso, that would be the last nail in the coffin to kill the PvP community completely, imo.

    I get where you're coming from with the playing for the lower population and looking for good fights but sadly you're in minority when it comes to this

    I play shor AD PS4 EU and for the past several months we have been outnumbered by the reds ... When the reds claim the map and are bored they go blue and turn it blue if AD are making any head way they will push us back to out gates ... Now I'm not against this ... It's part of the game ... It's frustrating ... But what's more furatrating is over the past few months more and more AD players are now playing reds why ...

    Cos if you can't beat the zerg join it

    As for the exploit on scoring ... You're still imagining an hourly count done on the hour and thats not what I'm suggesting I'm suggesting that when a keep goes under siege then it's flagged for score potential and when it comes off siege the score is recorded as a win or lose

    However to prevent logging into another character and manipulating the score mechanics, by faction locking the campaign for the players account, then this win loss flags on the score are more likely to be genuine scores not manipulated ones.

    Currently let's say for argument sake that EP own everything and that's a potential of 200 points

    It's 8 hours sleep, 8 work or school, 3 hours miscellaneous and 4 hours game time.

    Now for argument's sake let's say everyone was on that schedule but at staggered times with some over lap on game time

    This essentially means who ever logs out last reaps the most reward for none game time scoring and that's just wrong

    Devs dont take Cyrodiil improvements advices too much. Wont profit from that so it will have just minor upgrades.
