[Request] Disable Player Marker

(Looked for a mod to do this but didn't find one.)

Is there a way to disable the players [blue arrow] position marker on the map? I want to be totally lost and I know I'd have a lot of fun in this play-style.

Do not look at the map, ever, and you will not see the blue arrow. It does not seem seeing a map without the blue arrow would help anymore than this.

But I want to use the map. Now what?

That would be interesting. To look at the terrain you are in compared to what is on the map, to find out where you are. Use your compass and perhaps a sexton.
