Is passive dodge gone?

I don't want anyone to misinterpret this post. I'm just looking for answers. I thought with Murkmire that passive dodging was removed. But I am still seeing some players dodging my spells, without actively dodge rolling. Any clues as to how this is happening?

✭✭✭✭✭That's not passive dodge. You can still time dodge and dodge 75% skills. My stamblade is hardly touched by avoidable skills, by mixing dodge and cloak i-frames.2 -

✭Nope. This set gives the miss message, not dodge. And I doubt that many people wear it. Especially stamblades and light Armor users.2 -

✭✭I always dodge random things on classes that do not dodge roll or use shuffle. It happens once a day or so. It always made me think I have a 1% dodge chance on all characters. Shuffle just increased it. A couple of my friends also noticed this. It got to the point we called it roll dodge, shuffle dodge, or innate dodge roll.1 -

As I said in my post, I'm fine when I see people actively dodge rolling. But in this case, I never saw this player roll dodge.1 -

✭IMO I don’t think it was conveyed very well in the patch notes, maybe just easily misinterpreted. I had taken it as “dodge/dodge chance” was being removed from the game, but it’s appare that’s not the case. Only specific dodge mechanics were removed or changed; unfortunate if you ask me.Member of:

Clear indication of cheat engine use right here. Combat log with continuous dodges posted by a random person shooting easily dodgeable projectiles and claiming that they didnt see (kind of an important specification) the "templar opponent" (cause templars never dodge obviously) dodge roll? Yep, thats hacks.7 -

Also it was without rolling, with a dodge animation : the character twists his body like he is avoiding something.
So yes, it seems like there is still a natural passive dodging chance. We need a clarification on this please @ZOS_GinaBruno.1 -

I'm trying to make sense of your post. Are you saying that the player who dodged is using cheat engine? Or are you saying that I'm accusing someone of using cheat engine? Cause for the record, I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything. I just don't understand how someone is dodging when they are not roll dodging. I'm wondering if others are seeing this. Or maybe my combat report is not reporting accurately. Or maybe there is some bug in the game. Or maybe some set is bugged. I just don't know what is going on.3 -

Hmmm...that's interesting. Another in my guild said "I dodged some attacks yesterday when i was solo. Just like before the patch. You see that dodge animation. So maybe some attacks are still dodgeable"
So you might be on to something about natural passive dodging chance.0 -

No dodge roll or Los it was open field mostly

That is directly from GinaBruno’s patch notes. Passive dodging is supposed to be gone. You only are supposed to dodge when roll dodging.
It’s my understanding that Meridia’s Blessed Armor makes your opponent “miss” which is a totally different mechanic than dodge.
There is also a set called Glorious Defender that gives you a 9% chance to gain 100% dodge chance from light and heavy attacks. That’s the only set I can think of that gives you dodge chance though. Can anybody think of any other sets that might allow you to dodge without dodge rolling?
However, given the number of people claiming they see opponents dodge withoit dodge rolling, I’m wondering if something is amiss as well.0 -

✭✭I passively dodged some attacks yesterday outside of roll window. From what I've seen when the server is full, it becomes buggy in PvP and behaves very similar to roll pre-patch.
I've also seen some projectiles get dodged when I moved with major expedition without any rolling (also when the server was under load). I'm certain it can probably be reproduced since it was more than once at different times of the day.
Who knows? But considering both things were changed in the patch, maybe someone accidentally applied dodge to the expedition buff? Every case seems likely that your opponent would have had that buff on them at some point... and yes, the dodges I saw on myself had no dodge animations.0 -

BlackMadara✭✭✭✭If a character dodge rolls, they still have less than a second of "dodge buff" after animation ends. They will do the learning back dodge animation. That is what I have noticed.2

✭I have seen this also. I was chasing someone and they did NOT dodge roll, but they got a "dodge" 5 times in a row ; they were running right in front of me, not blocking, just running away.
I didn't check combat metrics like this poster, but it was highly annoying since none of my abilites hit.
The patch notes said they removed passive dodge chance. I wonder if there was other dodge armor or skills they were using.3 GOs, a Warlord, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP0 -

✭Think it’s something wrong with the targeting system in general. I remember I was trying to attack someone on my magblade while they were crouching and I missed like 7 attacks in a row because I couldn’t target them.1 -

✭The log clearly states "dodge". It's not a miss. I have other hits registering. The enemy doesn't actively dodge. He just runs and passively dodge. With a passive dodge animation (body twisting).
Again, could we get clarification about this please ? Maybe some dev could throw in an answer.

), and someone tried to snipe gank me. I passively dodged the snipe(same animation as it used to be and all). i specifically remember this because i sat there for 4 seconds going "wait... did that just happen?" 2 -

✭✭Sorry to bring this thread up again, but I am still encountering players dodging my attacks without roll dodging. It just makes no sense. They are not los'ing. They are not rolling. And interestingly, it usually occurs when they are on the defensive. Are other players experiencing this in pvp?1 -
