Why are enchanting nodes so rare?

I could travel half across a zone and barely come across 1-3 nodes. Every node only gives ONE rune stone. Every craft needs aspect stones which is 1/3 chance of coming across an aspect node when nodes are hard enough find already.

All these make enchanting a pain in the ass to progress. Are these intended or an oversight?

They can be sparse - what is really tricky though is all the space needed to save all those runes in the first place. I never complained about storage till friends started giving me their runes. They eat up space. I know you have to make choices in this game, but if you want to be an enchanter those are tough ones to make.

Best thing you can do is get the perk that highlights them and go out at night because then they are visible from a large distance away. I've got that many that I have had to stick a load in the guild bank. I do agree though that aspect are the hardest to come by. To be honest I'm glad its like this because it will separates the men from the boys so to speak and people will give up as with the other crafts which leave the real crafters to make a ton of money given time.

There will always be people that brute force it by farming instances and buying mats with cold hard cash, I'm doing it purely off what I find and if I don't even find or dismantle the Racial stones (BS/Cloth/WW) then I wont buy them.

As a little Tipp, not only Notes give Glyph, try Heavy Sack they give 2-3 Runes / harvesting. This Bags are normaly around crates or little Bags )

I use ~20+ bank slots just for enchanting and after farming 15 of each I couldn't even level the piece of crap..... yay for one level, and that was 6-7 and only from discovery xp

On the starter islands, runes are fairly plentiful. (Of course, that doesn't help after you've left it. )

The lack of runes on top of the fact its EXTREMELY slow to level makes enchanting a god awful profession. It will be fixed, I have no doubt it will become much easier like alchemy or any of the other skills.

I've actually noticed since release that there seem to be less runes appearing in the areas. During beta, I didn't have any problems finding them usually. Now for some reason there seem to be fewer and fewer. I'm not having that problem with any of the other gathering nodes or I would think it's just because there are more players logged in gathering them. I guess I'll have to get that perk and see if it's just me being blind this go around.

Agree, with this, I spent skill points on the perk that helps you spot them thinking that I was just missing them, but nope, they are far to rare and it is far to expensive to buy enchantments to break down.
