Oh for crafters, if you want to level jewelry crafting easiest and fastest way is to have a Master Crafter craft CP150 rings for you to break down (White), takes approximately 500..
so.. with wolfhunter DLC we were supposed to have gotten better chances at gold grains from daily writs, right? it was supposed to help, right?
except, for me personaly, it has backfired spectacularly.
I have one max jewelry crafter. she has yet to get a single gold grain. the rest are crafting at pewter level. I used to get some green, blue grains, occasional purple. but since they have been removed from loot tables, I do not get them, which makes them slower to collect for furniture crafting, but I'm not getting ANY gold grains on any one character either. instead... I'm now getting even MORE useless trait grains.
was that intentional? I thought the change was supposed to make things better, not worse.

Do I have to download the Wolfhunter DLC to actually start receiving the increase or is it automatic? I'm kinda new at the DLC stuff and how that all works I bought my expansions off the shelf.

I think what they are trying to do is to maintain the pre-JC gold jewelry rarity v. effort. Or at least not devalue legendary jewelry to the point of being common.
I'm ok with that. I am not ok with how meaningless most jewelry master writs are and how difficult it is for the average player to finish crafting achievements.

DLC's are added automatically to the game, only your acess to them changes depending on your subscription status and/or purchase status. as for not getting gold grains.. you seem to have the same terrible luck that have. sorry

I can understand what the original poster is saying though. Not everyone has all those crafters, and oddly, I find myself in the situation whereby I have several maxed jewelry crafters, and now i have more legendary mats than I do epic....
May I suggest ZoS take a look at this and do the following (with the same drop rate we currently experience with chromium grains):-
Platinum writs = Chromium Grains drops
Electrum writs = Zircon with lesser chance to drop Chromium
Silver writs = Iridium with lesser chance to drop Zircon
Copper writs = Terne with lesser chance to drop Iridium
Pewter writs = Terne only

But this system rewards the player for keeping a few characters below max JC. I guess it works, but it's kind of depressing I guess?
It should just be additive instead as you go up in rank. Like this:
Platinum writs = chromium 25%, zircon 20%, iridium 15%, terne 10% but all rolls are independent of each other.
Electrum writs = zircon 25%, iridium 20%, terne 15% but all rolls are independent of each other
Silver writs = Irridium 25%, terne 20% but all rolls are independent of each other
Copper Writs = terne 25%
Pewter writs = additional chance at random style grain maybe?
This way, you're actually rewarded for having a higher JC level. Since we don't have JC hirelings and JC requires far more mats than other professions, I'd say this is still fair and if anything brings us closer to balance with other professions.

I think the fastest way to farm purple jewelry is through PvP.

Carbonised wrote: »The only thing I would suggest regarding jewelrycrafting dailies is that they introduce a chance to get purple, blue and green temper parts as well. So, first the dice roll whether to get a gold chrome grain. If that doesn't happen, then you have a larger chance to get a purple grain. If that doesn't happen then an even larger chance for a blue, and finally green.
That way, you would still have a chance for a gold chrome grain, but even if you didn't get it, you would get one of the lower level grains instead. That would please most people, as well as making jewelry dailies a bit more rewarding.
