Do you have to subscribe to get explorer pack?

I'm installing now. Do I need to setup a subscription model in order to get my explorer pack on first login? I hear we have until Sunday to setup an actual subscription and I'd like to wait until then if possible but not if I don't get the explorer pack until I do. Thanks for any help.

You shouldn't need to. The two aren't really linked. The pack is an account flag, and subscription status only determines whether or not you can enter the server.
