PS4 - Game keeps crashing, never used to happen? How to fix?

Yeah me too man. Why won't they acknowledge this?! Ffs!!! zos !! we both have the same problem in this ticket.

Uninstalled
Checked ISP ... fine
No other game affected
Deleted save files
IP Port Forwarding
Checked router settings
Changed IP primary & secondary
NOTHING

GIve us some damn info!! This is your game that is the problem.

Sounds like it might be a PS4 hardware problem. Do you play other games?

It's not. I play other games. I play Smite, COD, GTA5 etc...

Nothing crashes like ESO. Nothing at all. ESO roughly crashes every 30 minutes or maybe less sometimes, but it most likely crashes at the start of a dungeon, at the end of a dungeon, trial also, or when i'm solo'ing sometimes, i've noticed if I stand still for too long that seems to crash too.

It is definitely ESO, not my isp, not my ps4. Nothing else crashes.

I have just messaged them again via a ticket to tell them all of this. ARGH! This is driving me crazy. Spent so much money on this damn game for them to palm me off to the ISP when it is definitely not that.

There not palming you off as its obviously not just a game problem (or thousands would be complaining)

Its a problem between the game and your particular ps4 which they try to help you with..clean the console out/rebuild the database/uninstall and reinstall the game etc are all reasonably easy things to try..but it maybe that a part of your ps4s ram or even hard drive is starting to fail.

This never happened before though is my point. This only started happening a few weeks ago.

I've deleted files, I've rebuilt the database, i've uninstalled/reinstalled. Why would it not do the same thing on another game then?

It is a very specific error "Unable to connect" indicating an internet-based error, I never have this on another game. My internet is not down at the exact same time. I can go on to the internet browser when it tells me I have no connection "unable to connect. Check there is valid internet connection" and it is fine; I can search the web.

It is not my PS4 man otherwise I would see this happening on other games, other areas of use, surely? It is very specific times that it happens. It almost always happens when I end a dungeon; how can that be my PS4 problem? If it was a ps4 problem surely it would be sporadic and not so easy to pin-point and identify exactly when it will happen. I can still speak on the mic for a second or two before it crashes out... It's always at the same point.

This needs some proper analysis as it is not only happening to me, sure its not happening to thousands, but there is no problem with other areas/games so it leads me to believe it is a connection issue with their game..?

And heres one for you to throw it off; it never happens in Cyrodiil. I can play for hours in Cyrodiil with no issue. You telling me thats my ps4?

Have ben testing a few things....

Over the weekend I did nothing but design friends houses, spending all weekend doing that without being kicked.

This evening I startws leveling a characters undaunted. Upon entering a dungeon as group leader, I was kicked from the game. Guaranteed if I am the leader, I am kicked from the game. Also, upon completion of the last Boss, vompletion of the dungeon, I get kicked from the server.

After a couple dungeons I aksed a friemd to be leader. I found when someone else is the leader of the group, I can join the dungeon and I do not get kicked from the server, and I can complete the dungeon activity and do not get kicked.

So this concludes the issue with disconnect from the server is solely occuring when I am the leader of the group. As guild leader I am always the one organising stuff, so untill now I have always been the leader.

This also shows it is something occuring inside the game. It is not an ISP issue.

my info:

• Brand new PS4 Pro (so it doesn't need defragging)
• No problem playing DCUO, Ghost Wildlands, For Honor, Need for Speed, The witcher, Dishonoured 1 and 2, GTA5, Dragon Age Inquisition. The problem is soley with ESO.
• Have deleted saved data. Issue continues.
• Have deleted the game and re-installed. Issue continues
• All port forwarded and all steps followed from support. Issue persists.

I still get random disconnects from server, but for now at least there is a work around where I should not be group leader or I will get kicked from the server.

Some help with this on going issue would be greatly appreciated

Yes that is strange, I'm not sure if I've pinpointed it to being the group leader, however, I can recall certain times its crashed out where I have not been the leader?

I've uninstalled/reinstalled today to see if that works. There is an issue i've noticed now and it is actually worse than disconnecting; it is horrendous lag, that occurs frequently, where my movement is delayed, the skills don't work and just general typing lag etc.. its unplayable.

When this happens, I've ran a speedtest on my laptop to which the ping is 16ms and the download/upload speeds are very good so again, this must be game-related?

When I dashboard to the PS4 home it freezes over until I close the application. Has anyone noticed this? Is this my disc maybe? Maybe I should buy another copy of the game? Like I said this is unplayable now at these times and I had to rage quit last night... fml

Right now my NB had a disconnect in a battleground. Penalty. No problem I said, I do a battleground with my DK. My DK joined the bg and game crash 2min later. 20min penalty. Yay... I am getting sick and tired of this [snip].

Update here. A couple nights ago I uninstalled ESO and reinstalled it and last night I did not notice any of the lag, movement delay issues or anything like that which I have noticed for the past week. Maybe just a one-off?

However, after uninstalling/reinstalling it STILL gave me the DC a couple of times "Unable to connect. Make sure you have valid connection".

This is pathetic support from Zos, we have a few people with the SAME problems in this post - all they tell me now is to go to PS4 support because they do not have event logs for my connection through playstation. If I go to PS support they will ask me "does this happen with any other game?" ... "no".... "then it is a problem with the game"

Why can't Zos understand this logic and admit responsibility for this damn issue.

I did the same yesterday, deleted ESO and reinstalled it on my PS4 - nothing changed, still getting disconnected every 60 minutes. Talked to my internet provider and he told me that there are no disconnects in my router logs. So it must be either the PS4 or ESO, it is not my provider or internet connection.

Yeah my ISP said the same thing. Ps4 will ask if it is just a problem with ESO > which will be YES.

ESO IT IS YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!!! FIX IT FOR GOD SAKE.

I had already deleted the game a while back. It didn't fix the issue.

Mine is a brand new PS4 Pro, and it works fine with every other game, so I know it is not the unit.

I can say that over the last week, using a work around of having someone else be the group leader has limited my crashes on joining a dungeon... However, I am still being disconnected at the end of a dungeon activity... so no joy there

Just to report this has actually recently got worse. Over the weekend I got kicked from the server so many times. My work around of NOT being group leader stopped working, so that if I was in a group or even solo, I was getting kicked after lonf loading screens. Wayshrines... kicked. Completed dungeon activity... kicked.

This really is dreadful.

I'm really hoping someone in bug support is paying attention to this thread as this really needs to be fixed.

I am also STILL waiting for a specialist to contact me... its been many weeks now

Yup, doesn't make a difference for me. Solo play, group play, leader or not leader, all the same...

This has just become something i've "gotten used to" now... can't be bothered, nobodies responding to me.

I can't play the gane. I stay connected but the lag is so horrid, even trying to do a dolmen is tiring. It's so bad that even though I participate in the dolmen, the game doesn't pick up any of my moves. So I don't rven get the chest at the end. I love eso but this is getting to be really tedious. Trying to do something as simple as a quest is impossible. The lag makes it so that the fight doesn't pick up.

I dont have this problem with any other game

I've been playing for about two and a half months on my PS4 Pro and this is the only game out of about 30 that drops my connection (FTTP) a few times per day and freezes every few days so I have to restart the game. I love playing this game but it is frustrating and not a good look when in a group and you drop out regularly.
I'm not the only one in my guild that this happens to either.
