How are we supposed to decide on factions?

Despite repeated feedback from beta testers, there is still absolutely NO information on the 3 factions during character creation. What are players, particularly those new to the ES franchise, supposed to base their decision on? The symbol or the name? How about explaining what the factions are when you click on them? Are players really meant to log out at character creation and go researching it?? C'mon guys, get some information up there when we click on a faction name!!

Altheina✭✭✭I am pretty sure that the 3 factions are just for aesthetic purpose and serve more towards pvp content? So you may join either one of the three without really being punished should you have chosen the wrong one(e.q. choosing Daggerfall faction as Dunmer race).

✭I agree with the OP, for non-TES nerds these factions are meaningless without in-game information.
It's also unclear whether you are locked out of 'other' factions' zones or not, that also could do with explaining.1 -
Alyrn_Grey✭✭✭The internet is so ubiquitous that it isn't unreasonable to expect someone buying the game will have looked at the website before creating a character or looked a website about the game.
Though for the challenge add you 2 short sentence description of each alliance that you would like to see as a popup help.0
