No, he's right.
Now with transmutation being in the game (which was good), the game needed a new grind. Let jewel crafting be it.
kendellking_chaosb14_ESO wrote: »The grind is not needed. If you need to grind then you are not really playing the game. Main reason I don’t do PvE is that after you get the gear you want there’s no reason to do the content. Once you get what you need you have ran through the content so many times there’s no fun or challenge.
If you’re not having fun what are you doing. I like crafting cause I can make gear just the way I want it a little weaker then most dropped sets but adding jewelry with the materials needed is like not having it in game at all.
Grinding can be fun, and therapeutic, in most cases.

You’re not getting it. For a lot of people the long arduous grind is fun. Personally I PVP a lot, but when I’m not in PVP like 80% of the time I’m just running around picking flowers. I’ll do this for like 3 hours on a Sunday while sipping coffee just to relax.
It took my about 18 months to get 9 traits on everything else. No issue at all if this takes me a long while. If it’s 3 months before I can get 3 gold pieces of jewelry so be it. I got a lot of coffee.

Hey all the love to you but if I have three hours of a weekend to spend on the game I want them to count. If I need to make armor or weapons I can just gather what I need no problem even when I farm for them. With jewelry you need to farm nodes and dolmens/dungeons to get a piece of jewelry that breaks down to a raw material literally 1/10 of what you need to even refine it. Getting raw materials from a finished piece which it self is not a heavy drop and you have a pointless grind on your hands.
You have 3 hours to sit back and relax farming more power to you, I don’t have that time to just pick flowers.
I can spend a whole week farming and still not have enough for 3 purple pieces. That’s not okay. I have too much things I can do with that time things I actually enjoy. I don’t sub to farm I sub to enjoy the game.
Savos_Saren wrote: »ZOS- we've tried to tell you since Summerset Beta. It takes waaaaaaay too much grinding to improve jewelry. Especially if you craft jewelry sets. I've been leveling jewelry crafting since the pre-launch and I can only level one necklace to Epic (purple quality) and two rings to green quality. It's *** boring. You need to adjust the deconstruction to align it with other deconstructions.
When you deconstruct a piece of armor- you don't get raw materials... you get refined materials. So what's the logic behind deconstructing a ring and getting raw materials? It's a blatant flaw in game design. This game is about aligning skills/passives to each other. Do the same with jewelry. Why, pray tell, would you implement a new concept in the game that takes MONTHS to reap the benefits???
@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert please adjust accordingly.

Then do something else and buy the jewelry in a few weeks. Regardless of how you do it, it’s not gonna be quick.

I don't think you realize the grind just yet...
So, for every dust- you have to get ten to make a plating... (which is RNG based) Those platings require at least 8 legendary mats to create one piece of jewelry at the legendary quality.
So- look at it this way: I've been running around and collecting seams to get dusts to convert to platings to convert to jewelry... but after about a month... I can only create ONE epic (purple) quality jewelry.
Think about it. ONE.

Quick is not my point here if I need armor and have no metal for some reason I can in less then a day in just an hour farm what I need. To even make a crafted white ring or necklace is ridiculous.
I’m a crafter I should not need to buy anything to get what I need I need food I make it armor and weapons I accept that I all have lower stats that’s fine with me. I put in the work to get enough skill points to do all the crafting on my main and still play him. I don’t mind putting in work but weeks of farming or outright buying stuff is not okay.
You loss that whole do it yourself if it takes you a month to do so. Buying mats should be easier and faster then farming, farming should be reasonable weeks of searching to make or upgrade is not reasonable. No other crafting works this way.
We all know it’s like this so trail and dungeons gold drops stay “rare” but we can upgrade everything else jewelry has entered that group of things we can change, so do it all that’s way not half baked.

how is it ridiculous? 10 plat for a ring 15 for a neck. getting that amount of material is trivial.

Maybe, juuuust maybe,
Gold Jewelry still isn't meant to be given out like a participation trophy.
I don't mind the grind.
And hopefully it'll calm down those players who were so worried this would devalue thier trial drops. Not as easy to get jewelry to gold by crafting as they thought, and I'm fine with the time it's going to take.
