gaining experience and leveling question

Hello everyone,
I searched through forum but didn't find anything that would answer my question.
I'm looking for a detailed explanation about gaining experience. Overall experience, skill experience and if skill experience affects overall experience(like in skyrim).
For example, if i'm crafting something or brew, do i get xp only in crafting skill or do i get also some level xp too?

ZurinArctus✭✭✭Craft applies only to skill. General mob/quest experience applies to both. Weapons/armor is applied on what is equipped, class skills is applied on hotbar slots.0
