Experience from smithing/clothing/woodworking

I've yet to verify this in-game, but is it so, that you gain more experience from crafting higher-level items? So you could craft your 1st level armour to wear, then craft a ton of high-level items for xp. How is the experience actually calculated, is it possible (Skyrim-style) to spamcraft daggers, or is it more worth your while to craft fe. cuirasses for the xp? Is it dependant on the amount of materials, or what?

Ive read that the most efficient eay is:

1- Craft lvl 6 item
2- deconstruct items crafted by other players

The craft guide I saw said to move on to level 16 blacksmithing items when you reached the materials available in the second zone, and so on when you reach the material after that as well. I certainly noticed getting more increase to my level bar from creating level 15 provision items than creating level 5 items (at the same provisioning level)
