Should i focus on one crafting profession or do all?

Im Asking because i fear in the end there will be not enough Skill points to level up all crafting abilities so it is maybe wiser to just chose 1 or 2 and focus on them?
how are you doing it?

    I'm picking up every node I come across and sell the ones I won't use to other players. Gathering costs no skill points, but reagents and such are beneficial to other players, even if you can't use them yourself.

    If you're in a guild, double score, since you're helping them level up.

    I'm just focusing on blacksmithing and provisioning. Blacksmithing because I'm a plate wearer who likes the weapons, and provisioning is nothing but profit for a kleptomaniac looking for additional books and such.

    Personally, I made a character just for crafting. He'll handle creating items for everyone else (and they can gather the resources via questing, etc). Mind you, that's using up one of my precious few character slots. For now, though, it seemed more straightforward than worrying my PvE or PvP characters about crafting.
    You may say I'm a Dreamer but I'm not the only one.

    What I am trying to do, is to focus on max 2 professions on a single character. I am training the other ones as well, but I am not using skill points on the less focussed ones.

    Then you might focus some of your other characters to cover the rest of the crafting professions.

    Like I am waering heavy armor, and therefor I am a Blacksmith, and I am also an enchanter, because I could use some extra benefits on my items. It could be useful to use such logic, and not make a heavy armoured character, who focus on professions like provisioning and alchemy, as they don't have any direct value to your character. Then you have to send items around through the bank from/to your other characters.

    There are a lot of skill points in game, but I don't think it is enough to give you every crafting point along with all of the game play skills and passives you'll want. But the main thing where you are likely to get a bit choked is on inventory space. If you try to craft for all things, you will hog a ton of inventory space, and increasing that is not cheap as you get further along.

    Personally, I'm picking one or two professions per character.

    I remember someone worked out the skill points and found there would be enough to take more than one profession and not gimp your character. You can do a test by building a character with one of the skill calculators out there and seeing how many points you need to make the character you want. This site has a skill builder (I'm not advocating for the site): http://esohead.com/calculator/skills#cc0z9c8. There may be better skill calculators out there.

    You can't make a "crafting" character, because you'd still need to level that character up. When you spend 100% of your points in crafting, you kinda can't combat.

    From what I've read the past few days, basically make a character for each proff. If you put points into more than one crafting proff, you'll end up short changing yourself come end game.

    That's what I did. I made 6 different characters and everyone got his own profession. I will level them up one by one so that all of them will have enough skill points for their profession.

    In an interview they said that it is possible to max out every craft but it takes a very long time. Also every skill point you use in crafting is a point not spent on spells, weapons or armour, so think carefully before allocating points.

    it really is a personal preference, though crafting is very useful. i am personally focusing on one craft per character and trading between them rare components, and selling the rest of giving them to guildies and friends.

    I think in the end it would be difficult, but not impossible. Not because of limited skill points, but bag and bank space. There are many mats in the game, and you could join a crafting guild to reduce the impact on your inventory. But there is no guarantee anything you add to a guild bank will be there later for you to use.

    Due to the space limitations I chose to focus on 4 professions only, skipping blacksmithing (i still managed to level it by deconstructing and selling those mats only) and alchemy and instead focusing on Provisioning. I found a "crafting buddy" who had no interest in provisioning and so I send them all alchemy ingredients and they send me all food ingredients.

    This helps us both because we can keep stuff attached to the mail until we need it and when we get full we can clear some last min space out by mailing off all the stuff we gathered for each other.
