Open PVP (Invasion System)

    No. NO. HELL NO.
Open PVP is the most weird idea ever.
ESO attracts a lot of people, who are used to sigle-player games, because it provides freedom of exploration, safe and serene playstyle.
You want to turn the whole Tamriel we have into one mad massacre? No, thanks. We already have weir practice of duels popular only with the newcommers who discover the ways to interact with others. These duels in cities and near wayshrines are just annoying all the people around.

Meh, a very small group of trolly personalities are the ones always pushing for pvp in pve. It's not even something wanted by majority (or even a large minority). And the idea is pretty lame on top of it.

Want to pvp not in cyro - then BG, Duel or IC. Otherwise move on.

And the whole "good ol' days" schtick we see from some players - the game was never "way better than now" and vice versa. The game has always evolved and different things are better or worse than other things all the time. As someone that has been around since pre-Alpha, the game has never been in a sublime state that has gotten ruined by a particular patch. Certain changes have been horrible, sometimes needed, sometimes not; others have been amazing - and the Cyro bonuses outside of Cyro going away was a good change.

lol but we could use more random incursions from Oblivion!

For example: 60 foot titan drops from the sky in the middle of wayrest! Takes 20-60 people to kill it! Woulda be awesome!!

Drops gold coffers, transmute geodes and other cool stuff!

So many missed opportunities with roaming bosses/mobs. It would really liven up overland.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

Pve and pvp both hold the game together. Ive played mmos in which palyers could flag and it was great! It really offered a lot in terms of player events.

There was a social tab and you could see who was flagged and start a brawl. It often led to bigger fights and brought clans together. Obviously, only if people type /pvp would they be a target.

Small pvp zones would be great, there is plenty of space that could be carved out from existing zones, or added especially if they added small forts, flags, 1/2 pve ect. Cyrodiil should have more purpose, however, having mire terroritory to fight for would be great.

A lot of fears are "the sky is falling" Remember when dueling came out? We wont even be able to walk into a city!!!!!

Death match has a purpose but tes has done well because of creating an open world experience. That is the heart of tes. Pvp needs to have more of an impact and territory needs meaning

Yes. For the justice system 100%. But its been shelved.

I'd be fone opt in PvP in all zones. PvEers are annoying enough in overload spamming AOE and stuff so having an instance with all the opt in folk would be cool (but not feasible)

As for scroll bonuses in PvE, no also not cool as led to farming and besides we are all too OP for PvE anyway.

We didn't know if the sheer ammount of people dueling would cause framerate drops, and let me tell you, when it was new and in vogue and it hadn't moved to designated area's, we had a hell of a time. It did. It settled down, but it did.

PVP needs to have limits. The reason that the justice system got canned was because of griefing. The reason this isn't even on the table is because of griefing. it's because of one, singular truth.

That your open world experience isn't more important than mine is. And it's why PVP beyond what it is keeps geting shut down. Because it'll come at the cost of other people, and that isn't a good deal. It isn't a good idea for me as the person geting dicked over. It isn't a good deal for Zenimax, who'll lose profits.

No. Simply No. I would leave this game, period. I do not play this game for open world PvP. There's enough low population niche games out there that cater to this crowd, you can go there.

Crowfall and Camelot Unchained are releasing at some point in the near future, you can enjoy that environment there to your hearts content.

This concept has been discussed and rejected by the Dev's previously, for good reason. This is not a PvP game, and many people, including myself, are very happy about that.

I tolerate PvP in the game as it is, the stupid dueling I barely tolerate. world PvP would be the death of the game, and thankfully, ZOS knows that.

I think it's a great idea. However, the way they should do it is give players the option for an extra 5k health. If they choose to take the extra health it makes them vulnerable to an invasion, and if they're grouped up the odds of being invaded are increased.

This way people that don't want to be invaded don't need to take the buff, but doing so makes them vulnerable.

Make the invasion PvP tied to the Morag Tong or something. With skills and passives associated with it.

There were a handful of cities dueling happened when it was realesed and while frame rate was a practical fear, there was definitely an argument centered on “I don’t want to see it when I go into a city” or “ it takes away my immersion”.

I think flagging for pvp, could be similar. If I was a major issue in populated areas, they can just have the guards aggro people flagged. flagging for pvp also opens up rp events, the trick is to make the system where it can’t be abused for ap and yes, it should never be “everyone in pvp”. I understand people wouldn’t want a thieves bounty and have someone line them up with a dizzy swing/dawnbreaker. Forcing people into that wouldn’t be enjoyable for a community in eso.

I think also having a global control system with small pvp zones as a part of base game zones, along with bigger pve events in a zone, such as defense in a huge raid, along with consequences in game would make more of a purpose for facltions and guilds. For example, increased nodes.

Give the pvp'er something.... This sound great. For the pve'er..... Harden up cupcakes. How much pvp content has been passed into game compared to it rehashed pve content?

-Make cities/houses safe zones (similar to swtor) but over land a free for all. House could have a toggle between safe and non safe zone.
-Maybe have a level protection system (lvl 15 cant be attacked or start a attack).

God, no. I feel like we are going to keep seeing the same 3 guys wishing to destroy PvE with such nonsense forever.

I'm just glad nobody takes this serious. And just like the majority of PvE players, i'd abandon this game right away if that was a thing.

    1. Make a quest board were players can pick up a quest that will give them a waypoint or general area of were to go.
    2. Make it so players with a bounty above X amount will have their names apear on the quest board , 1person can hold the quest for X player.(friends and guildies cant take each others)
    3. Sit back and enjoy your now functioning bounty system.

I have no dog in this fight either way but I do want to point out that doing so would greatly dilute the number of PvP players playing in one particular zone at any given moment.

No thanks. This bad idea keeps popping up from time to time like a rash and still isn’t appealing. Go play something else if ESO is not offering what you want. Simple as that. PvP has already withered down to a few campaigns and ESO is still continuing just fine with its PvE players that want to buy houses and play dress up between quests and dungeons.

    No.

Keep PVP in it's designated area and between individuals.

The reason the justice system and this got shot down was because they didn't want PVP to take up more than it allready does, and if it becomes more prevelent, people will leave.

Including me. I have no wish to have to avoid a location for the sake of a feature which isn't worth the cost.

Dude it would be on different instance. Zones are already on few instances, so are not always able to see every single person in there. You wouldnt even see [snip], not mentioning how it would not affecting u at all.
But with the justaice sytem tho, we could make that instance based so it wont hurt ur fragile feelings.

Casuals leaving? Good news, more actual relevant players on the way.

Well that kind of defeats the point, don't you think?

"Let's do a PvP invasion! Oh, but it will be in a different instance, so it will kind of break the point of it but hey, PvP invasions!"

Also I find the "Muh casuals" part at the end very cute. Shows you are one of those "Casuals are taking away my videogames" people.

    Ok sorry about that jaschacasadiob16_ESO

    You are right.
    It is gone.

    Well since that's gone...

I don't believe in this system at all because doing so is simply forcing one playstyle on others who enjoy a different playstyle.

Now if you want to make it to where players who want to PvP can turn on a flag then rack up a bounty and say "Come get me!

That I could agree with even though as I stated before I think that just further dilutes the amount of player at any given moment in Cyrodil.

Also would need to make Blade of Woe usable against other flagged players as well as pickpocket. No point in getting hit by another player over a witnessed crime you cannot commit against them.

Regarding the immersion argument. I PvP as end game and enjoy PvE too. What ruins my immersion the most? PvErs. Sure i dislike duels in city, however when dark brotherhood dropped we had carebear pvers running around slaughtering whole villages to level up / quest.

And now we have the farmers doing pick>pick>stab in vivec.

My PvP guy is lawfull when i have my 5% RP hat on and it bugs me to allow thieving and murdering all around me when I'm.doing Writs and banking and yet can not do a thing

In particular when I'm in EP territory and there are DC and AD scum robbing the place brutality.

I'm fine without full PvP coming in, but justice system for crimes witnessed by you should be enforceable. Make it cost a skill point or two like fighters guild quests. Maybe at a certain PvP rank.

    Happy days.

Again not dissing on the truly hardcore (you know who you are) just bringing an observation of what appears to be a vocal minority.
You should really start a new thread since this sabotages the OP.

You are overall right. But let's face it, the more time passes, the more casual-friendly the game becomes. You can now share loot, retrait it, improve it, ... The mechanics of many dungeons have been made softer (healers holding the pinions on grey portals anyone?). And so on.

I really only play this game for pvp anymore and I’d have to say no. If I thought the game could handle it server-wise I’d be all for it, but the server load is already clearly maxed out most of the time. This game has loads of posssibilites that are all limited by the server/connection performance. Otherwise, as long as you could option out of the PvP experience, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be a cool idea. Not gonna happen though. If we’re lucky we’ll see a new PvP zone, but only if we’re VERY lucky.

I love this "avoid it, simple" argument btw. "Avoid man, wth you don't have to play why u disagree?" WELL MB I DON'T WANT TO BOTHER AVOIDING ANYTHING just because you want so. Maybe i don't want to see the same 24m trains ruining the maps for others even if i don't have to engage.

Or -assuming there would be new achievements with this system- maybe i don't want to see the same cancerous PvP guilds dominating maps and demanding money from those who care for achievements. I do have a PvP-only char and i'm no new to anything with PvP. This is not casualty, this is common sense. Of which i can sense the lacking wherever PvP goes.
