C0DA and it's Numidium's Ancestorscythe

When I was stumbling through that C0DA website and read a transcript of the events where the Numidium goes on it's destructive rampage through Nirn, it mentions a weapon the Numidium uses called an Ancestorscythe. When the weapon is used, the people in the transcript simply vanish, erased from existence.

Is this supposed to be some Dwemeri weapon that uses the powers from the Heart of Lorkhan to kill people in the past, so that those in the present would then never have existed due to the paradox? Or is it a weapon that kills the entire family line of the one it targets?

It reminds me the zero-sum occult lore, like "being zero-summed by---" (or "metaphysically being suicided by---")

I really think TES in-universe lore is a matter of spelling, telling Memory. So if you erase something from people's memory, also you erase it from people's reality, then from "reality" sticktly speaking.

From a narrative perspective, it's called "retcon". It's like an in-universe retcon

And there's nothing paradoxal since it was performed IRL

    But y'know, C0DA is fanon.

    Then you must be purged

Numidium is a vessel of the dwemer's world-refusal.
Think of it as though the Dwemer proved mathematically that the physical world could not exist and therefore isn't real.
That means that all events leading to the existence of some guy (lets call him Tim) actually never happened.
The ancestorscythe just explains that truth to Tim such that Tim must conclude he does not exist in such a way that he zero-sums.
It' s as @Ajaxandriel says: they are removed from Memory.
I wouldn't see it as the ancestors being killed, just the realization that one's ancestors could always be traced back to the zero-sum of Anu-Padomay. In a sense, everything is subgradient to them and everyone is "descendant" from them. Together they are the same and sum to zero, so by the principle of induction that also means all descendants sum to zero.
