Oh bugger off. We need more community building events, not everything is about your minmax meta PvP or trials content.
I remember the devs in star wars galaxies running cool events like this all the time, but in-game rather than on the website. Fun times.

"Community building events" I smell management bollox-speak...a bit like "team building events" both worth their weight in effluent.
I'd just like, someday to be able to get through an hour's PVE pledges without being ejected from a game that then asks me to make sure I have a valid internet connection when I have 40 Mb dl, 9 Mb ul and 15 ping. So I 'd rather resources were put where they're needed rather than on a fancy dress contest.
Fix the server(s) before pointless parties.
If you want to dress something up buy a Barbie/Ken doll ;0)

Y'know I hear about these issues all the time, but the only time I've ever been "ejected from the game" was during mass zerg cyrodiil pvp. Very rarely I'll see it happen in a trial or something and then it's just a matter of 60 seconds to log back on and get into the game again. This is on console, not sure which platform you're playing on, but chances are a reinstall or clearing settings files would fix it.PS4 / NA

They come from robbing priest NPCs, for example the temple acolytes in Vulkhel Guard. It's a legendary (gold) drop, in case you want to search for them on guild traders.1 -

I'll 'enjoy' a feature if the price is reasonable. 8000+ gold is NOT a 'trivial' amount and not everyone plays the exploitive merchant game. Plus I'd like to have options that aren't learned style crafts.3
