Now if only they gave the same treatment to RNotifier & added back to API group stats it would one of the best patches so far imho. Oh well, Miats its a start at least.

I hope ZOS looks at it cause I sincerely hope MIAT addon is dead (as well as other similar addons if any)
I think my days in cyro are over if they dont fix it. I do not expect tolerance of an addon that destroys a build completely, and then they have they have the audacity to say its fixed, but it really isnt?
Snipe spamming isn't really a build tbh.12 -

Also, it's never been a big deal. Look at some console players... If you actually get it to work though... just mute the sound effects of skills and hide projectile visuals for the first attack from stealth..

No . Just players that have attended conventions with ZoS over 2017 sharing stories . But the truth of their talks is very noticeable in this latest "fix" .3 -

Well some people at ZoS can get ganked too, its what NB and stealth are all about...I grew up on XB, I died plenty to GOOD players that didn't need add-ons, pretending the PC community holds the reins on skill and catering to them is a BAD idea.

I would be completely happy if PC had the same limitations of console . It would eliminate many issues like clever alchemist nerf because wardrobe addon exploit ect . I do very well on console but gave it to my friend who went into the Army now that he can own electronics . I do miss add on free ESO .3 -

i wish i had the option of playing on psn but currently from what i hear PS4 EU pvp is basically dead so im stuck on PC, things such as miats really suck the fun i had with pvp in this game.. i just want zos to either accept the addon or just fix it entirely. cant believe they basically let a fully fledged cheat go on for 1 year while it ran off of their official API.2 -

The entire point of this discussion with ZoS was to advocate for change to the API that would effect all Addons at once able to tap in to information not readily available through the character interface . It is not the players who are not bright in this situation but those that opposed Paul Sage's original vision to keep this sort of exploitation of the API from ever being possible in the first place . Once a change is correctly made in the API , stealth attack notifications are no longer possible through any addon . The responsibility lies completely in the hands of ZoS here . Either they limit unintended action or they don't . They can not just make a change that only effects Miat's addon and this is why they tip toe around the issue so much . They have to do this without breaking the game and the UI . They worry so much about author backlash instead of fair play that this takes years to fix where many other MMOs never even allow Addons and do very well without them . There are dozens of clever ways to exploit through the API and ZoS is very slow to correct course . There are many reasons consoles are doing much better then PC right now and that is the double security that comes with console . Players can be banned just as fast from Sony or Xbox for exploiting a console feature . The fairness is a strong as it could be for them . They mostly complain about lag and loading screens not cheating . It is PC that taxed because of its easily exploitable nature .8 -

These 'other mmos' have different combat systems and better base UIs to accommodate for people's needs.
Addons allow to shift part of the burden to the community.
Addons never are the problem. No matter what they do.
Any problems arise from inconsistent and aimless combat system design.
ZOS changed their game design paradigm multiple times.
Original design tried to be 'it's all in the world, ideally you don't need UI at all'. Everything is minimalistic. To reduce distraction from the gameworld.
This is a noble aim, but ridiculously hard to implement at competitive level. And ZOS failed at it. Quite hard i must say.
Vague telegraphs, missing telegraphs, anim canceled telegraphs - all that points at addons. To remedy the failing combat design.
I would definitely prefer the 'all in the world' approach. If it worked. If addons could change that - i'd do that in a heartbeat. They can't. And we're stuck with bandaid huge popups on the screen.11 -

Out of currently active successful fantasy mmos only Korean ones don't have them:)

a way to work around it? you mean the sound that was always there? its hardly a work around. and was easy to miss for anyone not paying attention as opposed to what was it, a big glaring ROLL DODGE NOW popping up or some garbage?

Correct. Eastern MMOs (Japanese and Korean) have a long history of disliking add ons, but even Yoshi on the FFXIV team has stated they will allow ACT (the DPS meter you refer to) to slide so long as you A) don't talk about it in game and B.) don't use it as a tool to harass under-performing group mates.
But out of the eastern MMOs, only FFXIV is doing well. Even SE's first MMO, FFXI, turned a blind eye to the Windower add on for years, even during the years when it was relevant. (But that game is on life support currently)

Also, Black Desert isn't doing "amazing." They merged servers. You don't merge servers when you're doing amazing lmao.
Did you even play BDO? The game that the developers allow you to bot your life skills by setting your character or horse on an infinite loop through Heidel while you're at work or sleeping? It doesn't sound like you did.
