Clipping issues with "personal letter".

Is there any way to prevent this sort of thing? I've tried turning off surface drag and then using "pull" but that just causes it to float above the desk, which is rather unsightly. Is this just an issue with the Breton Desk, the Personal Letter, or perhaps user error?

Turn off surface drag and raise it just sliiiiightly and it will work. Placing some items takes practice.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to in my original post. Doing just what you said is what is pictured above.

If I "push" the item with the scroll wheel, it goes inside the desk. If I "pull" it with the scroll wheel, it floats above the desk. Its current position is the sweet spot between the two. It's weird.

don't raise it with a scroll wheel, raise it by moving your mouse/camera upward slightly while holding the paper, so that your character is sort of.. making a motion to look up if that makes sense? it allows you to make much more delicate placement adjustments. I have also found that its easier to do while in first person.

You can use the addon Homestead Item Mover to place the letter. It allows you to move the item in increments, you can place the letter and then raise it just a tiny bit so it is still touching the table and not clipping. This addon is a must have for home decorating.

Dude, not with the scoll wheel. I meant move your mouse. I've places countless of letters, it works.... :P

Apologies for not getting back to you earlier than this but thank you. I logged in just now to give it a whirl and found that my error was in using the push/pull with the scroll wheel.
