Can either buy the pattern with crowns or use in game gold to buy it, but make it BoP on purchase.
1. 5 Storage chests per house
2. 1.5k Crowns or 50k gold in game on a vendor in game

✭✭✭Or even if its not a pattern, 1.5k Crowns / 50k gold in game per chest would be just as good, and a real nice gold sink as well and Store purchase for everyone in game.1 -

Love the idea of storages chests and been hoping they'd add them. Zos wouldn't want to add them though because it would cut into their craft bag subscriptions. It would take significant push back from the community to change that.
Remember, every time someone buys more storage, Zos has to have more server memory set aside for items for each player. Players could fill their houses with tons of chests and their total memory needed for items would skyrocket.1 -

✭I.. kinda hate to tell you this.. but.. know how you cant store some boxes inside your bank, because it would be a chest inside a chest? Well. your house is actually a big chest, and thats why you cant put another storage item inside it..Near as I can tell.Power level to CP160 in a week:

Khami✭✭✭✭No. 200 per character plus 240(480 for ESO+) is plenty of space.
If crafting mats is an issue, sub. Problem solved.
They do not need to add storage to the homes.
This coming from someone with 5 bank alts with 200 pieces of bound gear.
