The latest Dark Elf costumes and an adorable pet are our newest additions to the Crown Store, which you can read more about below:

"Buoyant Gentility" Ensemble

"I've woven some of Lord Vivec's austere elegance into this outfit, my tribute to the Tribune," says Voldsea Arvel. "Soiree tonight in St. Delyn Plaza? In your new 'Buoyant Gentility' garb, you'll be a Vvardenfell vision!"

The "Buoyant Gentility" Ensemble costume is now available on all platforms for 700 crowns.

Seyda Neen Jodhpur Ensemble

"Don't think, just because they're involved in trade, that the folk of House Hlaalu don't know how to dress," says Davon's Watch couturier Voldsea Arvel. "This grand new outfit I designed for them combines practicality with genuine House Dunmer class."

The Seyda Neen Jodhpur Ensemble costume is now available on all platforms for 700 crowns.

Vvardvark Pet

The Common, or Demotic Vvardvark has become, in just a few short years, an everyday sight on the island of Vvardenfell. But where did they come FROM? Popular opinion points the finger at the wizards of House Telvanni—but they get blamed for everything strange.

The Vvardvark pet is now available on all platforms for 700 crowns.

    Hoorah! The dress is here!

Unfortunately I didn't look close enough earlier, this still isn't the dress the banker wears. The neckline is different. I sure hope that version comes to the store soon :)

Gina, did Weathers really have a part to play in the creation of the Vvardvark?

Second, he was ever the life of the party, when will he be back on Live?

On the "Holiday in Balmora" version of the "Buoyant Gentility" costume (the one with pants), the shirt component is dye-resistant in the extreme. Would someone who has purchased the dress version comment on whether it can be dyed properly?

I am curious, too. My use of the Balmora costume did not matter since I wanted a light color, but the Bouyant will need to be darker.

It seems to dye okay, this is Dibella's Blush and Transliminal Violet:

Not tried Ruby Throne Red yet as that was seriously washed out on the other one, will try later!

    1) @Paulington : That character is fabulous and is invited to any of my parties. Not that I have parties, because: Introvert. But still. :)

    2) Light colors dye okay on the "Holiday in Balmora"; it's darker colors that were a problem, specifically reds, since I want this dress for my fire mage. Any chance you could post a pic of the dress dyed Daedric Red or Ebonheart Pact Red?

Daedric Red on the body, Pact Red on the shoulders etc:

    Ruby Throne Red all over:

Unfortunately it still dyes badly with most reds. :(.

Ugh. And grrrrrr. And dammit, ZOS. That is unnecessary and frustrating and .... _dammit_.

This is the kind of dress I have wanted since I started playing the game, but not in muddy, washed-out pink. I am disappointed, to say the least.

I was so, so excited when they announced costumes could be dyed, and I've spent real money purchasing a lot of costumes since then because the dye system gives me so much flexibility in the way they look; it means several characters can wear a dress, and it looks completely different (and theme-appropriate) on each of them, so I get more use out of each costume. It also means I don't run into a dozen characters on the street who look just like mine.

And I am _so impressed_ with the dye system: it's wonderful that the dyes are reward-based, and fantastic that the saturation-heavy, true-toned hues are more rare and often require a genuine time commitment to get. I love that lower-level armor doesn't dye as well as higher-level armor on the basis of material quality - THAT is a lore-based aesthetic that adds to the game.

This is a step backwards, a reduction of functionality for absolutely no gain at all. It erodes the reward-aspect of getting the dyes in the first place. Muting the color palette means this outfit will look almost the same on every character who wears it. Do unique, characterization-based aesthetics matter or don't they? In a game where motif-farming (pure aesthetics) is a major motivation-driver, this makes zero sense.

I love this game. I love the Crown store. I don't even mind Crown Crates.

This makes me so angry I don't even know how to respond.

Vvardvark question: I know there is/will be a "tuxedo" vvardvark. Is that already in the current crown crates? And if so, will today's new regular vvardvark still be available as of Monday the 17th?

I adore the vvardvarks but would far rather have the tuxedo version and I have 5 crates due me from the ESO+ event just finished ... so I've no wish to spend crowns until I know I can't get the tux.

Naturally. Second-class citizens get the muddy colors.

@ZOS_GinaBruno any chance you can find out if this is intended because it's a low move if it is, I've 15k crowns gathering dust but they'll stay there if this can only be dyed with clown store dyes :( unless you want pastels :p

    Calmer now, I'll try again.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

ESO is obviously a labor of love, and I have deep respect for the devs, and the ZOS team as a whole. There are a ton of things in the game that did not *need* to be as refined or detailed as they are, but someone on the team cared enough to add an extra touch.

The dye system is one of those; it would have been much easier to give us access to a color wheel and be done with it. When I'm telling friends about the game, the dye system is one of the things I mention. Because the dyes are rewards, I have spent a *lot* of hours in game play deliberately performing activities just to acquire certain colors, especially the reds.

With the "Holiday in Balmora" and now with "Buoyant Gentility", those red dyes -- **rewards I worked in-game to earn** -- have been *deliberately disabled*, while simultaneously, a functional red dye is being offered to me if I pay cash.

C'mon. You see why this is objectionable, right?
