Losing Skyshards as I play
This is the second time it's happened. I'm in Bleakrock Isle and picked up all three Skyshards. However, when I went to put them to use, it said I had 1/3 Skyshards. Same thing happened in Morrowind. Had picked up 4 Skyshards but it only showed picking up one.
I'm playing as a Warden, level 19.

Damianos✭✭✭✭The 1/3 doesn't mean you lost skyshards it means you need 2 more to get another skill point.
Every 3 skyshards grants you a skill point. The game counts up for you. 1/3, 2/3, Skill Point Granted, wash rinse repeat. Once you've collected a skyshard, you cannot collect the same skyshard (from that specific location) more than once.
I highly encourage you to get the addon "Skyshards" if you're a pc player.1 -
The point being that I picked up all three Skyshards in Bleakrock Isle and yet my skills show only 1 picked up. I even went back to the three areas where the Skyshards are and each was dull, so I know I got them originally. Like I said, the same thing happened in Morrowind.
So does this mean that I lost two Skyshards in Bleakrock for good?0 -
ilander✭✭✭The 1/3 indicates that you have 1 skyshard out of the 3 required to get a skill point as damianos said above, not how many you picked up in Bleakrock Isle. It just goes up incrementally as you pick them up 1,2 then a skill point, it does not matter where you are in the game, you pick them up from all areas so you're not losing anything.. you're actually gaining as you're going along, it just resets to 0 when you gain 1 skill point from getting 3.

Nope, there is never a 3/3, it says 1 Skill Point Gained. You can hit your char screen and it will be XXX/399 which will tell you how many total skyshards you've collected. I may be off on the 399, but it's something like that. It's at the top left. Map be map screen or backpack instead of char, but it's one of them.

VoodooPlatypus✭✭✭✭You can check to see whether or not you're receiving credit on individual skyshards in a particular zone by going into the JOURNAL section of the menu. From there go to ACHIEVEMENTS, then CHARACTER and scroll down to SKYSHARDS. There should be a listing of each zone in the game with the list of skyshards you have picked up - or grayed out if they have not yet been retrieved.
As the posters above said, the 1/3, 2/3 listing in the main character window shows you the progress toward an individual skill point - you'll never see 3/3 because at 3 skyshards you will receive a skill point and the counter will reset to 0/3.
Check the JOURNAL > ACHIEVEMENTS > CHARACTER > SKYSHARDS menu and look at the section for Bleakrock. I'd put money on the ones you've collected already being highlighted.
