Housing is instanced so I can't see how that will significantly affect performance.

This! And come on, you can have dozens of players all crammed in one building without performance issues out in the world so I also can't understand why there's such a small player cap either. And most places in the game are far more heavily decorated than we are able to.

The entire front outside is a garden, I have several shrine areas, and a cool chill spot at the waterfall. After I was done with the outside I only had like 50 slots for inside my house. It looks great but it lacks knick knacks and a lot of other things I would love to out in it. 1000 spots would do.
I dare say there's more pressing issues with the game that need addressing.
MATT FIROR INTERVIEW FROM E3
Q : What about a storage for housing items?
A : That is not on our radar right now, because Elder Scrolls Online is a very large online game and those kinds of things go to the IT part of the game. We can’t just increase storage because Elder Scrolls Online is just not setup for that. We would love to, but we don’t have plans for it right now.
@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert Is this interview for real or what? Please tell me some organization is just fabricating whatever they want to suit their own goals. There are multiple times you guys have stated that the current housing item limit was extremely low to make sure the performance was ok, also that increasing this limit to something a bit more viable was coming. Performance is fine in housing, what is the issue here? Do you guys recognize polls and community feedback like this?

Just pointing out that housing storage does not equal housing item amount.
Housing storage is being able to place maybe 50 things in a chest of drawers and take them out later for use. Maybe you put in some crafting items or armor.
Housing item amounts are where you have a house that has a 600 item limit and they increase it to where you can now add 300 more items... so now, your house can hold 900 house decorations.
I'm sure you just misread the sentence, but just wanted to cover the difference just in case.

I certainly hope so, would be nice to have someone address this as it has been months since we have heard anything.

I have the outer wall of my keep outfitted with busts and now masks come out... and they take up the same space?! WTF?? These things needs to have their own category and not interfere with my busts that I've EARNED and I really don't understand why they're not separate things. They should be separate things but they're not because Zos wants us to spend millions on huge mansions to house these separate items. The only way to display them all is to buy a mansion. That's the truth.
