Perfect Roe Farming

I would like to know if there is any easy way of getting this item (most of the search from Google shows me stuff written way back in 2015/2016 ).

Are there any tips for farming this ?

Only fishing or buying as far as I know. Probably most time efficient to make gold and buy.

From completing Master Fisher achievment you'll get ~100-150 Perfect Roes. But it's a LOOOOOONG way. Much faster you can just mindlessly farm public dungeon and sell everything to merchant pet. And then buy roe from guild stores.

As a lowbie I spent a fair amount of time fishing. I generally for bait used what was easiest to get which is insect parts and primarily fished the streams in wrothgar. Each hole will get you anywhere from 10 to 15 fish and also perhaps a rare fish or a gunny sack. Sometimes the sacks had kutas so don't get rid of them. You will get on average about 1 roe per 100 fish. But that can vary. Once I got 3 from 1 hole and other times went long stretches with none.

They don't have rare fish in their loot table so they only give white fish and gunny sacks.

Yep. There is a fine place in Wrothgar delve (Nikolvara's Kennel) with 2 or 3 spots near each other.

Echoing from others, farming for roe is not very wise. Sometimes RNGsus will bless you with several in regular intervals. However his generosity has its limits, and once he's felt you are hooked on the idea ( I can't tell if I intend that pun or not), he'll sweep the rug right from under you and you might go through thousands of fish without receiving a single from from a filet.

Collecting bait and fishing for them will lead to triggered rage fits with the RNG. Good luck.

Find a place (often rivers but sometimes other spots) that have several fishing holes and fish like crazy there. I've had a lot of success when I go to spots where I can reel in a ton of fish. Random fishing holes that don't have a lot of other spots to fish I haven't had much luck with at all.

Getting perfect roe requires a lot of patience, imo. But if you find a spot with 4-5 holes and fish them out you will usually get lucky. (Not always but it's the best way to farm).

If you need insects go to Rivenspire - that's the best place to farm insect bait, imo.

But others are right that the RNG gods can be cruel. When I try to get perfect roe I'm often fishing for an hour or more and sometimes you get nothing.

I enjoy fishing. I turn up the ambient sound and relax for a while when I fish. Listen to the waves rolling in if I'm on the seashore. Or the river babbling...or perhaps the nearby roar of a waterfall. Maybe one day I'll get the achievement, but I'm not in a rush.

The perfect roes are a nice bonus.

if you're gonna fish for roe as opposed to buying them, it's recommended to do your fishing solo, so that you get more casts, therefore more regular fish, and fewer trophy/achievement fish...if you're going for the achievement, it's recommended to fish in small groups about 3-5 players at a time, to maximize the trophy fish, although the fishing holes dry up quicker that way...

Also, if you're fishing and cleaning, new life festival had a gold drink recipe called hissmir fish-eye rye, that was supposed to slightly raise your odds for getting roe from cleaning...i've only used it once so far on a few hundred fish, and didn't notice a significant increase but there may have been a small increase, considering that the drop for roe is rather low anyway...roughly 1-2 per hundred cleaned fish

Also, I don't know if it's a hard and fast rule, but I've always experienced that a fishing hole never has more than 15 casts into it before it dries up, for example if you're in a gang of 5 players, each will only average 3 casts before it dries up, so fishing in an area with multiple holes is also what you want...

I may be wrong about the new life drink. I read the description again, and it looks like what the drink does, is to help ID the type of fishing holes, and not to increase the roe.....sorry

It's a fine place, but it's swamp water type and contains rare fish. It's actually the best place for getting the 3 swamp rares in wrothgar.

There are fishing guilds in ESO. They exist so they can go in groups to fish out the goodies, from roe to achievement. Join one.

I believe the intention here is to say if you for the Master Angler achievement, you will have soooo many fish that cleaning them will get you at least the amount of roes mentioned. In other words just grind the achievement and you are good to go.

I got over 120 perfect roe during the course of my Master Angler achievement.
May have been my imagination but the drop rate seemed to increase the more zones I completed.

I got over 120 perfect roe during the course of my Master Angler achievement.
May have been my imagination but the drop rate seemed to increase the more zones I completed.

I would not be surprised if that was the case, it would make sense, a master would clean his fish better than a novice.

If the drop rate is not related to the achievement, then still getting that much roe is worth the effort in my opinion.

I have my lucky fish gutting place on the guild island - got four perfect roe from about 50 fish there so I always go back to the dockside now to do my filleting!

The Hissmir food does let you know what type of water you are at so you can select the correct bait. That helps as you get a catch on each pull instead of used bait.

Also Votan has a addon to help with filleting. Also tracks your perfect roe ratio.

idk but i've collected just over 200 perfect roe and am nowhere near master angler.

my method....

choose map with plenty of fishing spots, make sure you have plenty of bait.

lay in beverage of choice, maybe roll a few.

stream game of thrones on other rig....

fish and enjoy.

i usually get 1 perfect roe per 50 to 60 fish.

oh and 'hissmir fish-eye rye' has zero effect on outcome

The effect is that you correctly know the type of waters you are fishing. Had streams turn out to be lakes or foul. With the wrong bait you can get used bait. I'd rather skip the used bait by using the correct one.

Hissmir fish-eye helped me the most in Coldharbour because it makes the fishing spots more visible and they are a hard to see there.
