I have restarted the PC, the modem, the launcher, repaired x5, and renamed the programdata folder and started over. Now what??

@Fleshreaper : This might be a bug in the Launcher. However, it is not a flaw in the game client or game host. So I don't know why you would rename the Windows Program Data (AKA ProgramData) folder, but you might need to return it to its proper name or to replace the contents from backup before the game client will run.

Error 206 is usually caused by the Launcher having an Internet or other network connection problem with the Bethesda.net megaserver -- which has probably been overloaded since Patch 3.0.5 was released.

If it is still occurring while you read this, then please re-post your OP in the Customer Support section appropriate for the platform on which you play, and disclose the megaserver on which you play, also. None of the technical staff reads the Bug Report section. Also use the SUPPORT link the banner of this forum page to access the Knowledge Base and search for the keyword 206. You should also ask your ISP to check your account/connection for any problems.

I renamed the ProgramData folder because that is what ZoS has said to do for this error. And the programdata folder holds the download patch.
