The gear/champion level gap in this game is game breaking. I am Champion Level 115 and just starting playing In Azura's as I had given up on playing the Champion one. Loe and behold when I get there I regularly get 2 shot....ALL THE TIME. I am a magsorc. I put my shields up, and try and kite and them BAM...dead (More often than not I am yelling, "what the crap killed me!?")
My spells do very little damage, yet I am regularly killed faster than I can blink. Is this supposed to be fun gameplay? Is there anything to help lower level players like me other than to grin and bear it? I love pvp, but am getting so disheartened I am about to give it up. I am just not competitive at all and it is incredibly frustrating.
Get to 160... you are really close and start farming gear thats like half the game.
not to sound rude to you op, but, there should be a gap between new and time served players, i cant just up and walk into a boxing ring against mike tyson and expect to go toe to toe with the dude. or take down an elephant with a BB gun (just so you know i dont condone the killing of elephants_)
yes it can be frustrating to get 1shot and struggle to kill someone when starting out, but that is what any game is about, learning the mechanics of how to play succesfully, and also earning gear good enough to help with power and defense.
my advice to you would be to join a few pvp guilds, players can be helpful, search through the forums and get some info or pop on google/youtube and do some searching for players who have done extensive guides.
also try and learn from how you die, watch what people do remember thier names so when you meet them in the future you will know a little bit of thier playstyle so you can anticipate what they will do next,
and most of all have fun

In some ways I agree with this except for the problem created by the CP system, in a non CP campaign, masking the threat we used to see clearly when a V16 came over the hill... In the VET system, at a glance you knew what was what. The addition of proc sets, and some sets in general also create an imbalance that is not immediately apparent.
Maybe there should be some clear marker to indicate a player power level based on gear/cp/skills, etc.?
I was also hoping Azuras would be a nice reprieve from the CP nonsense after I finish lvl another alt in BWB, but this seems to be not that case then?
This makes me want to go back to the days of softcaps where literally you could run around naked in PVP because there was no point in trying to stack defense or attack beyond the caps. It wasn't about gear, it was about who understood the mechanics of their class the best, and who was the better player. Then they added a bunch of "padding" in the form of unbalanced sets and CPs so some could claim "skillz".

So you're saying you want street fighter

LOL! That's not even a close comparison... There's a huge difference between a 2d fighter and an open world objective based PVP sandbox. To reiterate (SLRD much?), it might be interesting to have a campaign without a bunch power creep crap, be it from the busted azzz CP crap that's taken years for the community to admit is just crap, to the ridiculous OP sets that are the single deciding factor of the combat, not the character. Plenty of threads on all that for you to peruse here on the forums, not like you should be unaware of the issues.
