We have not been able to run half the trials this update (with no time frame on a fix). Then they go and send invites to the beta to what it seems like any console player with a forums account. Many of us went and spent hours trying to get it to work on pc and even purchased the game (again). Then after 24 hours they say oops that wasn't intended to go out to you guys. Then they take forums access away. I understand that establishing a pts on consoles might not be feasible. Why then shut us out entirely especially after such a big mistake on your end?
Not going to lie, if you worked for me back when I was a CS manager, I would have fired you for that attitude. When a company *** up, it's their responsibility to make things right for the customer that they screwed over. The console players who received the beta invitation reasonably believed that it was sent to them on purpose and that they'd be able to access the beta on the PTS. That's exactly what the invitation they received said, and it's completely reasonable for them to think that they'd be able to do it. The fact that you apparently can't see that shows that you're unsuited to ever be in a position to deal with customers or clients, or to supervise people who do deal with customers or clients.Burgererer wrote: »@UrQuan For those that actually contacted support and had the issue of being told no, I'm sorry. It'd seem @ZOS_GinaBruno has covered the issue, anyway. If you actually read my later posts, rather than jump on earlier ones, you'd know that I learned that.
But for those that just bought the game, because the email never told you to but some guy on a forum might have, that's on you. ZOS owes them nothing because the comparison you're holding onto is saying that a PC sale lies about a price/missing hardware vs a cookie-cutter email they send to everyone are the same thing, or even comparable.
Sorry, they're not. Making things "right" are just the most beneficial for hasty decision-makers, not what's reasonable, fair, or makes much sense to me and a lot other people. Doing this would simply make anyone who bought the game within the past week eligible for a free refund, which would be bad.

No it isn't cleared up cause I'm still waiting and I sent a ticket yesterday. They say they are gonna honour it yet I'm still waiting and I wasn't a console player that got screwed, I'm a PC player
There's a difference between a company-friendly attitude and an anti-customer attitude. If you've got an attitude that customers don't deserve to be made whole when a company makes mistakes, then you've got an anti-customer attitude and you're unsuited to working in any position that ever deals with customers/clients. To be fair, I wouldn't have ever had to fire someone with your type of attitude because you never would have made it past the screening to be hired for that type of role in the first place.Burgererer wrote: »@UrQuan That's awesome that one guy would fire me on the spot for a company-friendly attitude.
You've proved otherwise. You've proved that you make the same mistake that cost United's CEO his promotion: you blame the customer and automatically jump to the conclusion that they did the wrong thing.Burgererer wrote: »I know how to treat customers,

Some of you may have received access to the closed beta forum section; this has been resolved, and you no longer have access since this is strictly for beta feedback.
Again, apologies for the mix-up here.
@ZOS_GinaBruno
It would have been nice to recive an e-mail Rescinding the invitation to the beta, for those "ooops" invitations that were sent out, Before i bought a Third Copy of your game. Checked my email at lunch today and was very excited to go home and was more than willing to pruchase a PC copy of the game to have the opportunity to test the upcoming release. Now after downloading and installing MY $30 copy of ESO for Pc, find out that i don't have access to the beta, that really upsets me. Knowing ill Likely not get a refund from steam. I would, as well as many others in the same position really appreciate a Re In-statement of the privilege that was mistakenly granted and revoked.

Just to clarify, you have both the Xbox and PC versions?NewBlacksmurf wrote: »The email only talks about starting the launcher.NewBlacksmurf wrote: »READ your email
Please stop tagging the employees....you have a ZOS profile and that is why some people have the invite.
It's that simple....if you don't want or do t or if you can't....don't download the client
No need to do anything else and no don't try to share it if you or anyone else has the email
I'd suspect that most console players don't have the PC/Mac client.
With that in mind, extending invites to consolers seems...silly.
@bareheiny
Actually it details a lot more by simply reading the email which sends you to the closed PTS forums and the other links send you to your account page.
The device doesn't matter as my iPad takes me to all possible sites as well as my iPhone.
Can't download but the links exist. It's just a matter of reading.DrSweetazz wrote: »NewBlacksmurf wrote: »READ your email

Somebody didn't read the civil discussion we were having.
I was asking a question that would be answered by a community manager. Where's this unnecessary hostility coming from?
Me tagging a Zenimax employee to ask a question only they can answer should have no ill effect on your forum trolling....
Edit: to my knowledge, this thread pre-dates any console player receiving an invite. It's not a "how do computer betas work thread"
It's not until after I responded that I saw the massive influx of posts from console players. I apologize on their behalf for not understanding how things work lol. But in my defense, it's obvious that you didn't read this thread and see why Zos is tagged.
@DrSweetazz
Bold isn't intended for hostility, it's drawing attention to read the email.
The email tells you that ZOS selected you. Previously the news article says ZOS will select participants and it doesn't say only PC would be invited.
It's honestly all in the email tho if ppl read and follow the links.
Sure you would need to play on pc but the email also clarifies this as well as the very detailed PTS pinned thread.
I did read the thread and it was after I read my own email and followed the instructions. I play on Xbox one and while I have a pc game account why would invites exclude anyone?
To me it would seem that an invite for console players makes a ton of sense as they can choose to buy and play on PC and may desire to give feedback for the upcoming release.
I read that many comments have concluded that ppl shouldn't have gotten invites due to individuals own thoughts that have no validity on the matter. It's just an invitation.
You send out two or three times as many as you hope would take part. They always do closed beta invites in waves (ZOS)
If so, maybe that's where our wires are crossed. Those of us who do not have PC versions simply do not have a way to download the launcher via the accounts page.
This is why extending the invites is silly. Obviously I could buy the PC version...but why would I, just to access the PTS.
Luckily a link was provided elsewhere, and I am currently 20% done. Maybe it'll be done by launch.
CS finally got back to me only to asked if my issue was resolved and not even answering my ticket. No it isn't resolved cause I can't login on my old beta account in game.
Hell, that's the fun part.. ppl got invited to the beta and were given access to the closed beta forum and only seemingly to the pts.
But if the NDA is bound to your accessing the pts these ppl never accepted it as they were never able to acces the pts.

Same thing happened to me. I emailed back and said no it isn't resolved but haven't heard back. @ZOS_GinaBruno is there some specific way we should be making our requests?

You ARE NOT BOUND TO NDA
You did NOT accept terms as you do not have access
Because your access is not upheld their NDA is null and void

Do you know how tempting it is to spill the beans on everything to spite them for all the grief they have caused us.
Not to mention that an NDA isn't recognized in the UK unless it is agreed on a very specific document for it to be binding ( this is true btw so TOS fanboys please don't bother commenting here, TOS isn't worth anything neither is just ticking a box)
A Possessed Harbinger be approaching enraged phase soon if stuff isn't fixed soon.
Whilst one may use reference to an Xbox account, one certainly has been maintaining a completely unlinked PC account for a very very long time.
