Buying and selling "skyreach runs" thoughts?

To those suggesting that powerleveling leads to players with no knowledge of how to play their class, how would standard leveling from 1 - 50 and then through cp ranks help? They would learn absolutely nothing that would help them with endgame there as well.
    They would :) Because:

    a) Practice makes perfect.

The huge part of big DPS numbers is muscle memory. And people who levet naturally through dungeons and trials can flawlessly perform their single-target rotation at 5.00AM with eyes closed on ~400cp. Duh. Even less probably. They weave automatically, cancel animation automatically, etc.

Skyreach grinders? Nope. Skyreach grind afaik leaves all the bosses out. The only thing Skyreach grinders learn is to how burn trash. It's nothing.

    b) Knowledge of mechanics.

No way around it - the huge part of being good in eso is simply knowing what to do and when.

I honestly don't mind explaining mechanics to people. No matter the CP. I even like helping newbies out :)

But when I have to explain what is "break free" on the last boss in vet Direfrost to 400cp person... Excuse me. I'm pissed off beyond measure.

I don't mind explaining mechanics :) But it's always nice to get a vet PUG with people who say "Hey, don't bother with levers, I'll heal through poison". "Ok, I'll take it first in blue phase if I won't be closing the portals". "Ok, me and that guy kite red and green, you and other dd kill blue". "Ok, you take the spit, I'll unleash the beast".

I'm ready to bet... Majority of Skyreach grinders would have no idea what the last paragraph is about.

But they will queue in vet none the less. On 400cp it's easy 2 keys, right? Right?..

    EDIT: grammar.

Grinding is a natural part of a MMO, And besides - it's not going to be the new players who are paying to get carried - it is older players with alts and money, who don't want to re-run the same quests they've done a two dozen times. New players can't afford 100k to pay for it and will most likely play the way it's intended, so why does anyone care if other people just wanna quickly grind to lvl 50 so they can quickly jump back into dungeons/PvP etc? They already know the game and don't have to learn it.
In fact why does anyone care what others do with their time? They are not cheating and breaking the rules.. Live and let live and stay out of other player's business. They have the right to level up any way they please.

I don't care to much about it. If someone wants to pay for the leveling service then they should. It does not affect me in any way. Why do you care so much about how other people level up?

its not terrible, if the person your running with can go and grab a side while you grab the other then you kill them all it takes maybe 3 minutes a run, so thats 40k an hour

I leveled my first and second chars to 50 myself, I've had 2 other chars powerleveled to 50. Being powerleveled in skyreach catacombs takes 1-2 hours. Takes 5 or 6 hours of constant grinding to hit 50 by myself. I'll gladly pay 50k per hour for power leveling. The time I save equals more money/fun in the long run.

Yep, the first time through it's absolutely worth playing the game normally, not only to understand the game mechanics but also... because it's fun! Lots of land to explore, quests and stories to enjoy, dolmens to destroy etc. But for repeat playthroughs... I don't know, man. Once I have one character at 50 I just want ALL of them at 50 so they all contribute to CP. As an altoholic it's incredibly depressing to feel like playing new characters isn't contributing to account progression. And a lot of the fun comes from skill builds which also take aaaages to unlock. I would genuinely vote in favour of having all alts start at level 50 once your main has reached that point, since CP is where the real game begins and the first 50 levels are just the longest tutorial in any game ever made. I don't want to repeat that grind before my alts can contribute to CP.

This crap here is what will push Zos to make lvl 50 characters buyable in the crown store.

Provided that was only achievable once you had leveled a character to cap I would much prefer it to them giving in to the constant demands to dumb the game down with everything being made account-wide for the benefit of the special snowflakes who only want to sit at level cap and not actually play the game to get there.

this is a mmo, leveling is a service people will pay for, i talked to one of my friends the other day who paid someone to help him grind skyreach, this guy was recommended to him by a friend, he said, "i just laid their on the floor dead, in a hour and a half i was maxed out" the price for the 50 levels was 100k. all this being said, if a guildie asked me to help them level, i would not charge, because thats what a guild is for.

It's one thing when the player being carried "helps" kill the mobs, but to just lay there dead and receive exp seems more like exploiting than playing. This is wrong and highly doubtful that it was an intended way to level characters.

They need to get rid of no hit exp/loot. Look at all the multiboxers keeping multiple characters stealthed while one character does all the killing, then they all share in the loot/exp. This has been seen at many leather grind spots and wouldn't exist if there was no loot/exp benefit. It's one step below botting imo.

As long as both parties agree on it, I see no reason to condemn such a practice.

That being said... I think it's a bit sad. People would benefit more from looking for similar players with similar needs, grouping up with them and making friends.

Doesn't bother me, and tbh this game isn't even worth playing till your cp160. My brother has started playing and sees me doing trials ect and wants to get involved, and I have to try and explain that to be able to do it you need to just go stand there kill mobs for hours and end to level up so your able.

But as for paying for levels goes, I do it myself payed someone 100k to level me from 1-50 in skyreach. Was worth it to me, time is money.

The ability to level so fast through exp events and enlightenment is why we see so many high level people that don't know how to play.

I always tell people they would be better off just playing the game and then grind whatever after so they know their toon. But I never tell people what to do, just kind of suggest what I think is a better way.

Here's a long story and my opinion.

Bahh it's all a matter of case by case. Playing the content is fun, i did it on my main... i startted playing the game the day it came out, then left for about 1.5 years.. then came back in January... Grinded there to lvl cp170 or so to 561, wanted to reach 561 if possible, 600 before Homestead comes out in case they nerfs Skyreach... i mostly soloed it and was againt carring people for 2 reasons,

1- they slowed me down, as a sorc, i was able with training gears, ESO Plus, 50% Ambrosia up tp cp 450 then started using 150% ambrosia.. i was able to make solo 1.2 Million Xp per hour, each run took between 3.5 to 4 minutes... Wanted tor each back my RL Friends that kept playing alll that time and were over maxed CPs.

2- I also didn't likes people power leveling because they end up bad players and don'T know their toons...

But then, after all those time playing the same and only toon as DPS, i decided i might start a Healer and Tank, so i can swap places with my friends runing dungeons.. i Then discovered the best way to lvl a toon is simple, full DPS with magika light armor gears up to lvl 50, and sloting 2 skills in your bar of each classes, making all 3 classes branch to lvl almost equaly... but, not making playing that toon maxed class potential, so somtimes harder to do some stuff bu keeping always the only 2 best skills of each branch in your bar.. but all that to say that, doesn'T mean somewhere there should learn their toon since, i lvl my tank DPS and healer DPS, but once i got 50, i respected and turn them the role i wanted to.. so actualy learn that class only when ir eached 50... because lots of those skill i used to lvl aren'T used anymore on those toons...

I Think players that sucks in dungeon is not only a matter of being powere lvl but a matter of the person'S ability to play the game... doesn't need to know your toon to understant to move the *** out of red circles or fire, specialy if a Vampire...

I did sometimes asked for grinding partners in Skyreach with my lower lvl toon, but when i said i was lvl 35-40 people didn't wanna join... but they didn'T know i'm not that bad players and had 600 cp pts distributed which makes a diff...

I've seen dungeons players with good gear that sucks, not because of skils but game play, so not being cary doesn'T mean a thing... i once was in Volenfel, 2 of the others guys had vMA staff, i'm too poor player to get those, i suck there, i'm only geared on my main with 5x BSW (inclusing infer sharpen staff), 4x IA et 2x Illambris, you would expect guys with vMA staff to kick ass, but, not only i was over dpsing them, but i ended up again (for the 3rd time in Volenfel pugs) to be the last one alive at the last boss and soling those 2 Dwemers, and them swearing at me because i didn'T resed them or dare try as the Dwemers follows me and the few life they had left, i knew that i could die resing people that might die and make us wipe while i try to res them blabla.. all that telling me « Well we could had all shield up and kite » blabla because that'S what i did, well, power leveling toon or not, i wuld expect guys i see with vMA stafs tu understand that, when your in a boss fight, with 2 Dwemers moving hitting like a truck, the way to do that fight is kite the one that folows you, not stand in their path... en result, i soloed those 3 dwemers aand made the pledge possible because they kept dieing.... So here, Gears didn'T matters, being power leveled didn't matters, only common sens.... How many of you seen constant death in Spindlclutch 1 at the Whisperer, because people don'T understand, she looksat you, roll dodge.. not matter how many times i say it in pugs, lots keep diying, so, i don'T think power lvlng or not would change someone's playing skill or make them read or not on the web for some tricks... I'm in a casual guild, some nice people, older than i am, even thoughi find 40 old, but been in MMOS since GW1 was out and made most of MMOS that came out since them, but some of them are new to this game style and even if they lvl content, only with 1 of them i dare doing vet dungeons and normal trials often are so funny... not because they don'T know their toon, but jsut don't have the common sens of this type of game,, we end up teasing them that red circles are buffs, stay there :P

So people paying to pwr lvling, why not, if offering to power lvl, why not, you never know who they are, might be someone that lvled 5 toons, thats doesn'T care avout content anymore since he done it a few times, can be a new player not use to it's toon, an old players lvling with crap skills just until reach lvl 50, can be player with full CP or no CP... i don'T care anymore, so here i am posting because i wanted to know how much people pays for carry since with 3 more new maxed lvl toon since january with a total of 4, and waiting Warden for new one, thinking about making golds easy, grabbing anyone willing to pay because i want gold. :)

Doesn't bother me at all, the game doesn't really start until CP 160 because it's pointless to get gear before that, just to go and get it all over again.

I don't mind people who don't want to do anything for free. It's up to individual if they want to pay for it or not. There is other solutions for those who don't wanna pay for it. Either find randoms, friends or level a different way.

Maybe they already have played that part of the game already and don't want to run it again. I have 2 mains. I've never got powered level in skyreach. On my 1st main I did it all, every quest, every dungeon, every delve, every single skyshard. On my second main I didn't want to do all that so I just did all the delves and just the main quests that gave skill points. By the time I was done with all that I was mid way to max vet rank. Vet rank was a pain to level. So just went to sewers to level to vet 16.

The only reason I leveled a few more characters was because of the double XP. Have a couple grind spots where you can get to level 50 in about 8 hours. Skyreach if done right can be alot faster than max in 8 hours. I see why some may want to pay someone to level to 50. It's a worthy investment just paying someone to quickly level within hours not vet rank is gone.

I also see your point. It is silly for someone completely new to the game skipping all those levels. But really not skipping any content since 1T. All quests and delves goes by your level now so they can always go do them one max level and learn their class that way.

For whatever reason someone wants to get power leveled or do the power leveling is their business and not for you or I or anyone else to tell them how to play the game. No rules or terms are being broken.

I'm fine with it because first of all it's the decision of the parties who are playing NOT mine as I'm not playing for them. Second I mean what do you expect when this game has blocked a huge portion of it's items behind a BoP wall (bound on pick -up) as if that's a good way to keep the economy going. The game has no natural need for farmers, like it's not the same with RS where you have a lot of options to make money since people utilize it; whether it be cutting wood for those increasing their fire-making level, or slaying monsters that drop weapon fragments or bones for the prayer skill-line.

TL;DR The game just lacks diversity so #DealWitIT

As long as it isn't real money, who cares. That's my personal opinion.

People were buying carries in GW1. 1-2 platinum to kill Shiro.

    It's nothing new.

    There are cheaper alternatives though.

What about it being real money would make it not ok, then? If you don't mind me asking

Then it would be breaking EULA, wouldn't it?

Not sure how. You would be paying someone to play the game with you. Don't think that is against the rules, maybe wrong. Now if you gave them your account info and let them use it, that would be against the rules.

I think it's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard of. Just join a guild and play the game with real friends instead of falling for these stupid scams. It's ridiculous to take advantage of players who don't have any social networks on ESO by charging them for a simple run just because they don't have any friends to play with. Absolute scumbag behavior.

    My experience:

I quit at level 24 not too long after launch because the game was completely unstable. Came back to a META (surprise) where what I started as, wasn't a prime combo.

Leveled a Sorc to 50-100cp (or so) on sentinel beach with friends. When the last two bonus xp events came, we all wound up in skyreach with accounts full of level 50 characters with good combos. I'm now 409CP from power leveling people/questing/pvping.

I'm good with all the classes. I do 20-40k dps with everything other than my Stam DK, because it's a tank that vet dungeons can't kill. In PvP the DK uses a 2her and is very strong, managing to kill multiple players by myself with corrosion armor.

Animation canceling isn't rocket science. It's not even hard to find out, it's one of the first things I noticed while spamming shields as a sorc.

I've done vMA. It gives me crappy drops.

I can do all the quests and be like woo hoo it's like a TES game, but online.

So for all the folks saying that skyreach and powerleveling is some kind of low... just stop. Whatever your reasons are, they're ego-centric, and you just sound like a sucker who's jelly. At least my quest rewards are solid, yours probably got decon'd even if they had a good trait because your level wasn't maxed out.

Finally, as it's been said: Leveling doesn't teach you how to deal with vMA or Vet dungeon hard modes, or trials, OR PvP. All your blaming and shaming accomplish is identifying you as someone who never grew up and continues to cry when anyone gets something you didn't.
