Bar swap during combad

I need some help /advise on the mechanics of bar swap. I got killed with the following. Flame reach, heavy attack, flame reach, heavy attack, flame reach, heavy attack. During the entire attack i could not swap bars at all to get my defensive shields up. I was not on my horse and had full Stamina.

I have had this happen on my magplar and it is usually when I am spamming a cast time skill. If you use a cast time skill and only press the button once you will be able to swap. But if you press it twice and load the next cast it will not let you swap.

I've has issues with this recently as I was rolling 2H/DW and using my 2H bar for gap closing, then switching to my DW bar for damage....and I found that my problem was that I was spamming my bar swap key in the heat of the moment and actually not switching bars. It's frustrating when I think I'm hitting my target with Bloodthirst when in reality I'm spamming Shuffle and now I'm out of stamina haha.

Of the entire game I have to say that this feature really destroys PVP for me. I dont even try and swap anymore i jsut let them kill me so I get rez again
